Drop box the best

  • January 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is best when it comes to file sharing because it allows you to easily send large files and it is so fast. This is really helpful for me as an engineer because most of times I work with large 3D files and it makes work easier because I don't have to wait for a file to be sent, it is just sent at an instance no matter the size

You can create one office account which you can link all of your workmates devices to, and share files more securely by adding passwords and expiration dates to any work and this is really helpful when you are linking so many devices, you can choose who to share the password with for a particular file .

I really enjo the fact that it support any file type.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me dropbox is really correct in everyway it was actually a perfect software but my company had to change the software huge capacities of storage are so expensive which wasn't good for the company's budget
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an engineer I have used dropbox to transfer files between my colleagues and to store large files on the cloud . Which has made my work so easier on sharing large files
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is the best soft for storing specifically large files but it is costly tho

Great as a secondary file storage medium

  • January 15, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is an excellent program to store important files as a secondary storage system alongside your hard drive. Since it's based on the cloud, it's available anywhere and accessible on any device. You can have your files with you 24/7 since Dropbox never crashes nor has any downtime. You can use Dropbox on a stationary device or a portable device to upload, download, and share files. Dropbox comes with collaborative necessities such as file transfer, simultaneous editing, file revision histories, and document collaborations. You can organize your storage manually with the help of folders. Alternatively, you can have Dropbox use the automation system to sort your files on your behalf for convenience. You can use content creation tools in Dropbox to have documents, sheets, presentations, and text files from scratch. You can collaboratively edit and create them with invited users. Dropbox does an excellent job at tracking file history, allowing quick revisions at any time in case there's an error or you want to go back to a previous iteration of the file's contents.

Dropbox is a reliable software for having your data backed up to get your files back if you lose them from your computer. You can also upload files from your phone, making it a universal file storage program for any device. You can also create shared folders and send invitations, allowing others to upload files to these folders for quick sharing means. Dropbox is free to register and use, and it has plenty of space for data storage for casual usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Quite frankly, I haven't had any issues with Dropbox thus far to dislike anything about it. For the reasons that I use it for, it has been excellent and gives me an incentive to continue to do so.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox for multiple purposes and have done so for many years. I use it to store important files that I can access at any time and restore them to my computer if I ever lose them from my computer's hard disk. Since Dropbox works on the cloud, a stable internet connection is all I need to upload and download files at any time. Dropbox transfers data at a much faster rate than any other medium, making it the ideal file transfer software available. Due to COVID-19 and the current rise in Omicron, we're only working from home at our company. Dropbox does us a huge favor in making it convenient to share files from our homes while working. We use quick sharing through URLs to send and receive files. We also have shared folders for specific projects involving the entire team to add files for more direct sharing. Dropbox being available for any device makes it easier to access and work from anywhere, which has been beneficial in current times. Since most of our work is online, we can also take advantage of some of the features Dropbox offers for content creation. We use Dropbox to create and edit documents, and we've moved all our Excel spreadsheets to the cloud for simultaneous editing and history revision purposes. For business conferences where we have to display presentations, we've been reliably using Dropbox for creating slides collaboratively where we can discuss and complete them more productively.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can get started with Dropbox for free, which in itself is a massive benefit for the features it offers. I've been using Dropbox for a long time, and it's been pretty sufficient for my needs. You can reliably store essential files on your storage without worrying about your data being stolen or lost. It's excellent for file storage for as long as you want.

The OG cloud file storage solution but has limitations with integrations.

  • January 14, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox has an excellent UI and perhaps the best functionality around sharing folders and files compared with other cloud storage providers. And when used in a team environment, Dropbox works well with comments, sharing, and keeping things organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
For several years, Dropbox has been plagued by performance issues and a tendency to slow down the computers its running on. Outside of that, Dropbox simply doesn't have the level of integrations and organization that providers like Microsoft OneDrive have, which puts Dropbox squarely in second-place for use in a workplace team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We started out using Dropbox as a cloud storage provider for our team, and immediately saw the benefits of moving files off of on-premises server shares to the cloud. Being able to seamless share documents, access offsite and on-the-go using phone apps, and sync between computers improved our productivity and streamlined many business processes. However, the benefits of OneDrive were substantial, and at this point, we use Dropbox almost exclusively to share files and folders with outside parties and to provide a submission portal for files and images from students, employees, and others. Dropbox still excels at folder sharing and at collecting images and files.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider integrations carefully and think through your workflows. And be cautious if using on a Mac; evaluate performance issues with large file sets before committing.

Increasingly reliable and feature rich

  • January 14, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox started off as a synchronized storage solution for me. But increasingly, it has become somewhat of a Swiss Army Knife.

Sharing file links is relatively easy. And Dropbox is adding new features...finally...such as its own version of Frame.io for video production quality control.
What do you dislike about the product?
I miss being able to right click on files and folders to do things with them, such as move, copy, delete, share and rename. This used to be a thing, put a couple of years ago, they got rid of that functionality, instead opting for clicking on three little dots that bring up a menu with various actions.

Additionally, Dropbox has launched a file sharing feature, similar to WeTransfer. But it's slow and not as smooth. In fact, file uploads via the Dropbox web interface and desktop app are usually slow, even on gigabit connections. And they're generally not reliable, regardless of computer, browser or upload location. Half the time I return to find the upload had failed for some unknown reason.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox makes file sharing and collaboration within business units much easier. Email is such a thing of the past. It is a surefire way to lose things.

Dropbox solves that, because everyone knows where to look. No more hunting around decentralized file systems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider this if you're looking for a synchronized cloud storage system that is also a whole ecosystem in the making. Dropbox is adding news features all the time.

Consider whether Dropbox offers the encryption you need.

A good sync capable, secure, and digital storage system

  • January 13, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox professional is an excellent cloud storage and file backup system. In the current digital scenario, this tool is handy to share large-size files and sync across various devices comfortably. Also, it can integrate with online conferencing tools such as zoom, Canva, slack, which is a handy feature for work efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dropbox is not cost-effective, and the free subscription provides you the limited space for storage. Also, it has features to organize various files, and folders but these features are not modern. These are some of the major drawbacks that I face while using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving immediate sharing and files organization issues with this tool. Use of dropbox professional is helping me to save time, enhancing the work efficiency of my team members and me.

Great storage, easily shareable, accessible anywhere

  • January 12, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's fairly universal. You can share files or photos through Dropbox with anyone or any business. It's organized well, and I appreciate that I can access it anywhere from any device.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free version gives you hardly any storage at all, which can be a hindrance. I constantly get emails for my free account saying it's full, and I've run out of storage. That is the only time Google Drive has a leg up because it seems to have a much larger storage capacity, and it's free.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has solved many file-sharing problems for me. For example, I like to shoot film photos and the place I get my film developed offers to share your files via dropbox. It saves me when I don't have a flash drive handy, and it costs no money - compared to purchasing a CD or DVD with your images. It has been wonderful to collaborate and share content with businesses.

Great DAM for business

  • January 12, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like the best about Dropbox professional is how easy it is to find what I need. Whatever files I'm looking for, they're in one central place that's super easy to search and grab exactly what I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not the biggest fan of the Mac application compared to the web application. The Mac application feels a little bit clunky compared to the web application, so I prefer to spend most of my time there if possible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having one central place to store all of our assets. All of our legal documents, marketing brand images, contracts, etc. are in one place. This is super helpful since we don't need to run around to different places to find what we're looking for.

Not as useful as Google Drive

  • January 12, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the layout of documents when you first login. It is a very simple file system and easy to find things that I need. I also like the design of it, it is very pleasing to the eye with the color scheme and layout.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the compatibility or the sharing. I have found that google drive is easier to use and has more features. I also pay for a premium service with google so I have a lot more space for no additional cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I sometimes have to access files of images that people send to me through dropbox. I definitely can't stop using it but it is not a preferred way that I like to work.
