Absolutly loved using it

  • April 01, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I loved that I can download the folder to my laptop and have access to it online and offline, like a regular folder on my pc that I can access online from different devices, make changes and have them updated on my laptop!
What do you dislike about the product?
The storage capacity is too low for. I enjoyed it so much I shared several documents with different people and my file was full quickly. To upgrade the capacity, I need to pay.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing is made not only easy but super accessible to anyone!

A safe platform to save files

  • April 01, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is free and has an intuitive UI. You can access it on any device to save and retrieve files at any time. It's an effective cloud storage solution due to its permanent uptime, so your files are always with you. You can use Dropbox for many different reasons such as backing up important files, saving files temporarily on the cloud, cleaning up space on your hard drive, transferring files, sharing a large amount of data, collaborating, creating docs, and managing your tasks. Dropbox offers all of these features on the platform for free, which you can take full advantage of from the get-go. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Dropbox for storage and sharing. For backing up small files, especially for programmers, Dropbox is as quick as it gets. It takes a matter of seconds to upload the files, after which you can move them to a private folder that only you can access or to a shared folder to allow your colleagues to view them. You can also use the built-in bot to sort your files as needed based on certain criteria. File sharing on Dropbox is pretty easy and instantaneous. After you upload a file, you can share it with the link that Dropbox generates with anyone, allowing them to download it. Unlike Google Drive, Dropbox doesn't show any information about the account or the email address, ensuring high safety.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm pretty happy with Dropbox and have no issues whatsoever.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox is our team's primary solution for sharing files and saving our company project files and services on the cloud. We've switched to Dropbox to save most of our work because Dropbox allows us to edit and save text files and documents on the cloud directly. Rather than downloading the file, making changes, and then re-uploading, we can save a lot of time and effort by working on the file directly on the cloud. We can also collaborate on them, which is by far one of the best features Dropbox has to offer for businesses. When we're working on the file on a local system and we save the changes we make, there's no way to undo them unless the window is still open. But Dropbox, on the other hand, keeps a history of all the changes made to the files so that we can undo them if the situation calls for it. This is very helpful in rare instances where there's a miscommunication or we run into a bug in the code we're trying to compile and want to brainstorm to fix. We rely on share folders to make files accessible to our entire team, which is far easier than everyone having access to the same account, which can also pose a security risk.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I've had a great working experience with Dropbox. My team and I continue to use it daily to share files and work as a team, which has been an absolute time-saver. I strongly recommend Dropbox as a storage solution because it has more to offer than Google Drive, except storage space.

Easy file transfer

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is seamless to use and get around as it's one of the most user-friendly cloud storage software you can find. It supports easy file storage that you can use by dragging and dropping the files you want to save. Dropbox can be used for freeing up space on your computer, making backups of essential files, moving files between multiple devices easily, sending files to other people, transferring files in bulk through excellent compression protocols, collaborating on docs, saving confidential data with password protection, and task management. You can view photos and videos you upload in the Dropbox Photos gallery, where all the media files will be displayed in a grid form. Dropbox allows you to make file requests to other people, where you can write a title on what the request is for and select which folder you want the files to be uploaded to. With Dropbox Pro, you can also set a deadline. This feature is incredibly helpful for schools and colleges in setting deadlines on assignments and essays. File requests are easier on Dropbox not only to receive but also to send files in bulk. You can also send files that normally exceed Dropbox's default limit for space. You can also create shared folders in which any file added will be made accessible to authorized people whom you can invite.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox is limited not only in storage but collaboration options. The website is sometimes slow in loading or uploading files or doesn't show the file after you've uploaded until after you refresh the page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox is my go-to for backing up files for work, uploading files to save more space on my computer or phone, transferring files from my computer to my phone for sharing on mobile apps, and working on cloud-based projects. It makes our work portable since Dropbox allows us to code and edit text files on the cloud platform without requiring us to download them onto our systems. This allows us to work on the go on our phones or tablets until we have consistent access to a computer. We can use Paper to code and create flowcharts for algorithms and strategize our work. Dropbox makes it easier to set deadlines and to-do lists, similar to Trello but offers more for a work environment since it also supports storage and transfer. The benefit of Dropbox is easily its quickness. We can upload and send files in a matter of seconds, which has never been possible through any means before. In essence, quick file transfer makes us get back to our work faster, thereby saving us time and being more productive. I also use Dropbox on my phone, where I can transfer files with my computer whenever a client sends me attachments via WhatsApp.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you've never used Dropbox or are considering it, go ahead by all means as it's free and you can sign in immediately using Google Drive and skip the registration altogether. Dropbox gives you 2 GigaBytes of space initially, which you can always upgrade if needed.

What do you like best about the product?
I like Dropbox because it is useful for:

1. The sync option allows us to work with our data on multiple devices while on the go.

2. It allows us to open, read and modify files such as pdf, png, mp4 and pptx.

3. It is useful for cloud storage and retrieval of all types of files.

4. Allows file sharing via URL link.

5. Able to store data locally in a Dropbox folder and sync to the cloud while connected to the Internet.
What do you dislike about the product?
1.Subscription fees for Dropbox business plans are too pricey.
2.For Dropbox newcomers, navigating and discovering old files might be challenging if they are not arranged in relevant folders, therefore this aspect should be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1.Dropbox simplifies the workflow in work teams; it also allows us to make changes to our files at any time and from anywhere.

2. Increases the company's ability to send high-volume, complex files and folders both internally and with customers and vendors.

3. It is beneficial because it ensures automatic backup of various files containing information managed by our organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend Dropbox for the following reasons:

1. When we are traveling, we must share materials with our team.

2. Distribute a file for evaluation and discussion among team members.

3. Useful for mass file storage via link.

Sharing files with anyone has never been easier for us.

What do you like best about the product?
Uploading and downloading files is quite fast, Dropbox has quality servers so this process takes a few seconds to upload and download. I love the Dropbox UI and the way it automatically sorts my files, I can sort files and folders by upload date and initial letter. The App for mobile devices and computers is quite fluid, it has a similar fluidity to the web version, you can manage your cloud storage with similar experiences on each device. Also, viewing, editing, and sharing documents is easy and can be done online.
What do you dislike about the product?
At work in my sector, Dropbox hasn't had any issues, I've been able to transfer files instantly, my colleagues can send me files with just a link, and the cloud storage has never thrown an error while uploading a file, it's amazing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox helped us free up space on our computers, some of the most important files and documents from our advertising campaigns have been stored in Dropbox to protect them and have access to them from anywhere in the world. It helped us to share files without using removable drives, in addition, it helped us to have collaborative work, where we have shared folders to access files much faster. Dropbox is the revolution, it is the future of cloud storage.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My recommendation is that you immediately upgrade to a paid version, as the Dropbox free trial can be a bit limited and won't allow you to store as many files as you want, plus it won't let you link your Teams account to Dropbox.

Storage, transfer, and collaboration

  • March 24, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is a unified platform that allows sharing, storage, and collaboration. It's free to use and quick to get started with. The interface is pretty straightforward, where you'll find the buttons to add files to your storage drive, add folders, and also create folders. When creating a folder, you can have it private or shared. The latter will allow people you send invitations to add their files and also access yours in that folder. You can run a unified storage folder along with other people without sharing any further account details. The files that you add to your storage are uploaded to the cloud, which you can view at any time. You can even view them on other devices where you have Dropbox downloaded. You can use Dropbox as a common means of transferring files from one device to another. You can use Dropbox for work as it provides many means of collaborating. You can not only share files seamlessly but also make changes to their content in real-time along with your coworkers. Similar to GitHub, all the authorized users can add on to or make changes to any file. You can also create files such as docs from scratch that you can simultaneously work on with your coworkers.

What I like best about Dropbox is that it allows seamless sharing of large files. You can send file requests to anyone via email, after which they'll be able to share files with you without needing to upload them to the storage first. The file request transfer limit exceeds the default storage limit on Dropbox, making it a more efficient way to transfer files. Dropbox is incredibly secure and you can rest assured that your files are safe and not prone to getting hacked or viewed without your permission.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox is excellent but the desktop application is pretty useless aside from making quick file uploads. You can't do much with it since it doesn't even let you view your storage, let alone collaborate. But you can use it on your browser for any need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox for all cloud-related activities. It's an excellent platform for file storage as it allows me to use my work files anywhere even when I'm traveling. Even when I'm switching to a different device, I don't need to rely on storage devices to move my file around constantly. With cloud storage, my files are always available. I also use Dropbox to back up all my important files, sheets, docs, and passwords since it's pretty safe and reliable. Dropbox has an excellent password manager in it where I can securely save all of my passwords for easier access and security. My coworkers and I use Dropbox to share files and store all our projects for easier access when the presentations are due. Real-time file sharing on other platforms requires both parties to be available at the same time, whereas Dropbox gives you a bit of discretion and allows the designated user(s) to either access the file from the shared folder or through the URL, which are available at all times. Dropbox allows automatic file compression for folders, making it easier to share a large number of files simultaneously. It also has built-in automation to move files to the appropriate folders based on the file name and type.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For people who are looking for a unified software where they can collaborate, store files, and share them, Dropbox is the one I'd recommend first. It's very scalable and suitable for teams of all sizes. It takes no time or money to get started with it.

Great collaboration and storage software, but a storage software first and foremost

  • March 24, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The application is well-built and very fast. I appreciate the free version, which is great for students and those with limited document storage needs. The mobile application works great too, and overall the application is very easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
File sharing and viewing capabilities are sometimes glitchy, especially for larger files and video files. Playback capabilities also seem to struggle at times, but have gotten better over time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox solved company-wide file storage and management problem for us and has been very useful to quickly and securely store files. We also use it as a backup repository for some information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
While Dropbox is a superb solution, the landscape has changed and there are many competitor products out there to fulfill this demand. This application is best suited for small to medium-sized companies that have limited file storage requirements.

Excellent solution for file storage

  • March 17, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is an excellent solution for cloud file storage. It's easy to use and set up, requiring no download whatsoever to use it. You can use your browser to access Dropbox on the website, where you can store your files easily. Dropbox provides the facility to drag and drop your files into the drive to upload them without needing to navigate them manually on your computer. You can drag and drop multiple files simultaneously for a bulk upload. Dropbox makes it easier for you to access your files and create folders to make your storage look well-kept and organized. You can download Dropbox on your mobile device for file storage, similar to the browser. If you download Dropbox on your computer, you can sync the app with your mobile device to easily send and receive files. If you're tired of using other methods of connectivity like USB transfer, Bluetooth, etc., Dropbox is the best solution. Dropbox, through Dropbox Paper, allows you to collaborate on any work that you're doing online with your team. You can draft docs, sheets, and maintain your projects conveniently with proper roadmaps and use the bulletin board to plan your tasks.

You can take collaboration a step further on Dropbox by assigning your folders as 'Shared', using which you can grant access to any number of users. You can allow others to upload and download files from shared folders, which can make file transfer for work easier as there's no waiting period at all. Dropbox has plugins for many apps that are prominently used today, making it the most ideal solution for cloud storage.
What do you dislike about the product?
While I'm pretty content with the general features and advantages of Dropbox, you're only getting 2 GB for file storage, which is very inconvenient. When Google Drive and OneDrive can offer 15 GB and 20 GB respectively, Dropbox is very underwhelming in comparison for file storage alone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been using Dropbox as a solution for cloud storage. When my team and I were made to work from home because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we had to quickly find a solution to move all our files from our office workstation to our personal computers to work remotely. Dropbox was the easiest way to make all our files accessible without a local network since it runs on the cloud server, which any of us can access. We have all our project files and documents made accessible to the entire team, which we can download and look at when needed. Using shared folders, we can upload and retrieve files for our routine updates and software maintenance work as a team. For any business webinars, we can use Dropbox Paper to create presentations and the necessary paperwork for projects, where everyone can have input and add on to the docs collaboratively. For personal storage, Dropbox is pretty reliable as you can sync your mobile device and computer to move files easily without a third-party tool to intervene.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dropbox is an excellent storage and transfer solution. But the size limit can make things difficult for you as it provides the least amount of space compared to its competitors, who offer more. You can use Dropbox for moving and sending files as that's easily its biggest advantage over its competitors.
