Still a Reliable Choice, but Facing Stiff Competition
Best cloud storage platform
Makes sharing and collaboration on files easy
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
What I like about Dropbox is how easy it is to share and collaborate on files with customers. It is straightforward and works seamlessly.
What needs improvement?
There is room for improvement in Dropbox's security measures. Some customers opt for a private solution they have developed because they prioritize a higher level of security.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Dropbox for a few months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We have not had any major stability issues with Dropbox.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability isn't a top priority for our needs at the moment, so we haven't specifically requested high scalability for our storage. Typically, custom solutions aren't inherently very scalable. This is why integrating with a cloud solution like Dropbox makes sense for us - it offers the scalability we might need in the future without worrying about it. At our company, we have teams of five to ten people in larger groups with around 100-150 users. It helps us cater to different-sized teams and projects.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is very simple. Setting up our solution doesn't require a big team; usually, a couple of people are enough for deployment. One person handles the project deployment, and we use internal resources for ongoing maintenance.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Dropbox is fairly priced with a yearly license.
What other advice do I have?
I wouldn't recommend Dropbox based on my experience. For customers and managers dealing with scientific data, a custom solution might be preferable, and that is why we lean towards it. Even if someone is considering a shift to the cloud, we prefer a more tailored approach rather than using Dropbox. Overall, I would rate Dropbox as an eight out of ten.
Helps to open files but improvement is needed in file storage
What is our primary use case?

Dropbox needs to increase its storage.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I rate the tool's stability a ten out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I use the solution for my personal purpose.
How are customer service and support?
I haven't contacted tech support yet.
How was the initial setup?
Dropbox's deployment is straightforward and very quick.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I don't pay any licensing costs.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Dropbox a ten out of ten.
Very high quality
Cloud Storage and File Sharing Software Review
Very seamless experience
Provides good stability, but the data recovery feature for the free version needs improvement
What is our primary use case?
I use Dropbox to store files and pictures.
How has it helped my organization?
The application helps free up storage space on my phone. I mostly have all the data in Dropbox.
What is most valuable?
The product's most valuable feature is storage.
What needs improvement?
The product's data recovery feature for the free version needs improvement. Once, I had lost all the data. When I contacted the support team, they were unable to retrieve it. They should archive the data.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Dropbox for more than ten years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The product has good stability. However, it has some performance issues. It needs a better warehouse for data backup. They should provide more storage for the free version.
How are customer service and support?
The response from the technical support team could be faster. They sometimes take two days to reply to an email, whereas sometimes, they respond in two hours. There is nothing specific.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is very easy. It takes two to three minutes to complete. I can easily use it on the desktop, web, and mobile. It is well-integrated with Google and a few other email providers.
What other advice do I have?
I recommend Dropbox for personal use, as it is a free tool. You can store data and ensure security. I rate it a seven out of ten.
Enhanced organizational efficiency and collaboration through robust scalability and reliable performance, offering a seamless and secure cloud-based solution for file storage
What is our primary use case?
I primarily use it to store and share files with individuals across different continents. It serves as a convenient platform for saving and exchanging various documents and materials with others.
What is most valuable?
It offers security, accessibility, and user-friendly features.
What needs improvement?
While generally user-friendly, there is room for improvement in the user interface, especially with the introduction of new integrations and features.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using it for approximately six years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I find it to be very stable. I have not encountered any issues, nor have I heard of any problems from others. I would rate it a solid ten out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
While I don't have personal experience in this aspect, based on what I've read, I would say it is quite scalable. Initially, we had around fifty users, but the number has since decreased, currently ranging from thirty to forty. Despite the reduction in users, the platform is still extensively used.
How are customer service and support?
I have never reached out to their technical support because our local tech support has proven to be competent enough to address any issues.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We used SharePoint in the past, which was a Microsoft platform, but that was quite a while ago.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward.
What about the implementation team?
The deployment is handled by my team. They take care of the configuration, and it typically only takes five to ten minutes for end-user setup.
What was our ROI?
There's undoubtedly a significant return on investment because we transitioned from the Microsoft SharePoint Live OneDrive solution. Previously, we had a formal user complaint base, but now, thanks to the user-friendly interface and improved performance, we've managed to considerably reduce user complaints. The platform has proven to be effective for our team.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We have a corporate license for this platform, which involves an annual subscription. The pricing varies depending on the version, and the one we currently utilize is the business version. I'm aware that there is a larger version available, but the one we have meets our storage requirements adequately. I would rate it eight out of ten.
What other advice do I have?
My recommendation, especially for individuals engaged in extensive work involving large video files, presentations, or design documents that need to be shared with third parties across continents or locations, is that this platform is an ideal solution. Overall, I would rate it nine out of ten.
A tool that provides users with a good capacity to save and share files
What is our primary use case?
It is just a normal tool for file-sharing purposes and a common platform that allows people to save and access files from different users.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the user-friendly capacity it provides me to save and share files.
What needs improvement?
Considering the solution's shortcomings, I want the product to be more user-friendly and offer more storage capacity.
The solution is expensive and should be made cheaper.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Dropbox for three to four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Stability-wise, I rate the solution a seven to eight out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is a scalable solution.
I use the solution for my personal use cases.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have experience with OneDrive and Google Drive. I moved to Dropbox from some other solutions to test it out.
How was the initial setup?
The product's initial setup phase was easy.
The product's installation phase needs to follow just two or three steps.
The solution is deployed on the cloud.
What about the implementation team?
I managed the product's installation in our company.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I need to pay towards the licensing costs attached to the solution. The solution is expensive.

I recommend the solution to those who plan to use it.
I rate the overall product an eight out of ten.
