Reliable Cloud Service, But Pricey

  • October 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Dropbox for about ten years and I really appreciate its ability to sync files between my home and work computers. One of the things I love most about Dropbox is its ease of setup; it was not difficult to set up and I found it easy to use and intuitive. Additionally, Dropbox solves significant problems for me by being cloud-based, allowing me to access my files from web browsers without needing to install the client on multiple public computers I use at work. I particularly like being able to access my files from anywhere at any time, and I find the seamless integration with Microsoft Office products online to be incredibly useful. Furthermore, being able to sign forms online and share large files with others are features that I find very beneficial. Dropbox continues to be my preferred choice because it provides the accessibility I need while protecting my privacy and removing the necessity to install all of my files on work computers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would reduce the price because it's expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox to sync files between distant computers, access files from any browser without installations, and share large files. It enhances my accessibility, ensures privacy, and integrates well with Microsoft Office, solving remote file access issues and boosting productivity.

Effortless File Sharing and Sync, But Pricing and Free Space Could Improve

  • October 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox makes it incredibly easy to organize, store, and share large files between my devices and collaborators. The sync speed is fast and reliable, and I love that I can access my files anywhere without worrying about losing data. The smart sync and automatic backup features are a huge plus — they save a lot of space on my local drive and keep my workflow running smoothly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The storage plans can get expensive, especially when you’re managing multiple accounts or large music/media projects. Sometimes the desktop app can use more CPU than expected, and file syncing gets stuck occasionally if the connection drops. It would also be great if the free tier offered a little more space for smaller projects or collaborations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox helps me keep all my creative projects organized and synced across multiple devices. As a music producer, I often switch between my laptop, studio computer, and phone — Dropbox ensures my Ableton files, stems, and artwork are always up to date. It also solves the problem of large file transfers when collaborating with other artists or designers. Instead of sending files over email or messaging apps, I just share a Dropbox link and it’s done instantly. This saves me a lot of time and avoids version confusion

I appreciate Dropbox's integration within my Mac environment

  • October 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Collaboration with clients. Ease of use. Interface has greatly improved over past 2 years. Confidently secure.

I mostly use DropBox directly through my Mac UI. This is the primary and most important way of interacting with Dropbox. I wish functions were a bit more integrated, but I overlook that limitation. When I truly want to control details of sharing and access, I use the website.
What do you dislike about the product?
File/folder ownership confusion. I've had occurrences of clients who shared a folder owned by my company, continue to use it as if is was theirs—adding 100's of MBs of files to the folder.

Sharing interface could be improved. Mostly in having the ability to quickly scan a long file list and see who is sharing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An organized, safe repository of cloud-based file-sharing.

Drop box is helping a lot with project management and coordination.
