Never Lost so Much Data!

  • May 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Nothing! Dropbox singlehandedly managed to lose 6 months worth of data! And when we called customer support they were so rude!! Needless to say we will NEVER use that platform again!
What do you dislike about the product?
See what I like most... nothing about this is positive... it's clunky, it loses data and customer support IS TERRIBLE!!!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nada, Zip, Zero... we originally used it to communicate between Sales and Editorial but we couldn't get it to communicate because we were on separate servers which shouldn't be a problem... right? Wrong!

Utilizing seamless file storage and retrieval with robust user management features

  • April 29, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We normally use Dropbox for team collaboration and file backup. We use it to store files, share them online, and manage organized groups from our decade-long usage.

What is most valuable?

Dropbox is primarily used for storing and sharing files, along with backing up files. If someone deletes a file, we can retrieve it from Dropbox. It also features an admin console where we can easily manage users, see which user has access to which content, and how much space they are consuming.

What needs improvement?

One area of improvement would be to allow multiple users to edit a file simultaneously and see edits in real time, similar to OneDrive. In Dropbox, once a file is opened on one system, it locks the file from others. It would be useful to have real-time collaboration features in Dropbox.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Dropbox for over a decade.

How are customer service and support?

Dropbox offers 24-hour support, both through chat and limited hour calls. They are very helpful, and if initial support does not resolve an issue, they escalate the call to senior staff.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We use a mix of Dropbox and OneDrive. OneDrive is connected to our ID and Microsoft Teams app for collaboration purposes.

How was the initial setup?

Setting up Dropbox is simple. New users are guided through the process with pop-ups explaining how to add files.

What other advice do I have?

In our use case, Dropbox provides more control and security. I rate the overall solution eight out of ten. Improvements, such as real-time collaboration capability, could make it even more beneficial.

Very helpful for bigger files

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can send heavy files and it doesn’t take too long to load.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes you have to reload the same file over and over again, every time you have to share it. Instead of having it saved in the software. And that the link expires after some time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When you can’t sent stuff through email or messenger cause it’s to heavy, this is perfect.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use both on a PC and through the mobile app is second to none. So simple to share and organize documents and photos safely. You can even easily share with family members, friends and business associates. I could not function without Dropbox! I literally use it every day for both personal and business needs. Customer support is always solid as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, I don't have a single bad thing to say about my Dropbox experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to easily store, edit, and organize content in a safe and secure location is priceless. It's also very easy to share all content with other users for a seamless process.
