What do you dislike about the product?
I have no points that I dislike about the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
HAProxy serves as a replacement for the previously used load balancer product NSX Advanced Load Balancer.
Reliable software and intuitive UI
What do you like best about the product?
The software stands out for its reliability and comprehensive nature. Moreover, the graphical interface is intuitive enough for easy handling. Installation, configuration, and integration are done very simply. Furthermore, customer support is responsive, allowing us to progress quickly. We use this tool daily, and the features offered meet our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
No fine management of rights to give control over only a part
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Haproxy, through our pair of aloha, allows us to balance the load on our datacenters and web servers in particular.
Intuitive UI with a Steep Setup Process
What do you like best about the product?
The UI is very intuitive. It has both complexity but ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a lot to setup and refine. Possibly adding better steps throughs for creating rules could help?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Load balancing and some WAF. Centralizing the management of this. Centralizing certificate management.
Great Performance and Security, but Complex Configurations Can Be Challenging
What do you like best about the product?
Performance, reliability and scalability
Enhanced WAF configuration for security and the detailed logging
Fusion control plane integration combined with HA Proxy Enterprise gives a single pane look and feel

What do you dislike about the product?
When tackling more complex configuration getting the syntax correct has been a struggle for me; however, HA Proxy support has always been there to help
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool has been invaluable in supporting our small team and constrained operating budgets. By centralizing all our SSL certificates in one place, it has made certificate management much simpler. It also offers a level of security we otherwise wouldn't have achieved, and the logging features provide us with valuable insights.
Powerful, Reliable, and Flexible—But with a Steep Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent performance and reliability — handles high traffic loads efficiently.
Very flexible configuration, supporting advanced load-balancing algorithms and SSL termination.
Strong security features and detailed logging capabilities.
Open-source and widely supported, with an active community and solid documentation.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
HAProxy helps us manage and distribute traffic efficiently across several banner backends, ensuring reliability and performance. It solves key problems like load balancing, fault tolerance, and traffic routing, which are critical when multiple backend servers are involved.
Benefits:
Improved availability: If one backend fails, traffic is automatically redirected to healthy servers.
Better performance: Distributes requests evenly, preventing any single backend from overloading.
Simplified management: Centralized control over routing rules and SSL termination.
Scalability: Makes it easier to add or remove backends without service disruption.
Overall, HAProxy ensures our banner backend environment stays stable, efficient, and scalable under varying traffic loads.

Reliable Performance with Challenging Configuration
What do you like best about the product?
It’s been around forever, so its behavior is predictable, and it does its fundamental job of shuffling traffic without requiring constant intervention. Its low resource usage is its main saving grace, as it means we can mostly just set it up and forget it's there.
What do you dislike about the product?
The configuration is notoriously dense and unforgiving; a single misplaced character can lead to hours of sifting through cryptic logs to debug a routing issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
HAProxy is essentially a band-aid for fundamental architectural problems. It solves the immediate issue of our servers being unable to handle direct traffic, so it sits in front, distributing the load. This is less a "benefit" and more a "necessity" to prevent constant outages.
Unmatched Power and Precision for Professionals
What do you like best about the product?
Its performance is nothing short of legendary; it handles staggering amounts of traffic with such negligible resource usage it feels like magic. But its true genius lies in its configuration. It’s a work of art—a pure, text-based DSL that gives you god-like control over every single packet. We wield its ACLs and stick tables like a surgeon’s scalpel to dissect and annihilate threats in real-time. It’s not just a tool; it’s a masterpiece of engineering that provides absolute, rock-solid stability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, framing anything about HAProxy as "negative" is to fundamentally misunderstand its purpose. People mention the "steep learning curve" or its reliance on the command line as if those are flaws. That's not a flaw; that's a feature. It's a deliberate design choice that filters out the dabblers. HAProxy doesn't hold your hand with a flashy GUI because it's a professional-grade weapon, not a toy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
HAProxy isn't just "solving problems", it's the guardian that allows us to sleep at night. It single-handedly conquers the three great demons of web infrastructure: chaos, collapse, and compromise.
Highly Configurable and Fast
What do you like best about the product?
Incredibly configurable and performant, and pretty darn easy to setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the WAF filters could be easier to tweak, but this is a minor gripe.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our primary business model is Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), so we rely on HAProxy as a key component of our infrastructure that has to be up 24x7x365.
Effortless Load Balancing and Security with HAProxy
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using HAProxy for many years, mainly for load balancing, reverse proxying, and securing traffic . The initial setup was smooth, allowing us to add security features easily, such as WAF, which significantly decreased our applications' attack surface. HAProxy makes managing path and headers manipulation quick and easy with just a few lines of configuration. Its capabilities for affinity meet our simple load balancing needs perfectly. HAProxy also offers different APIs that are very useful when the complexity of the architecture increase. HAProxy's adoption is simple, quick, straightforward, and well-optimized.
What do you dislike about the product?
For some specific header or path manipulation, HAProxy syntax can be quite tricky and needs some thinking to find issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find HAProxy simplifies load balancing and proxying, enhances security with WAF and DoS protection, and streamlines configuration with APIs, suiting our enterprise's needs efficiently.
Impressive Load Balancer with Low Memory Use and Excellent Support
What do you like best about the product?
This is a truly impressive tool for load balancing, offering a low memory footprint and effective web application firewall capabilities. The support provided has also been excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, there isn't much to say—it simply works consistently without any issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The WAF offers straightforward setup for load balancing, whether you're working with HTTP or TCP. I found the configuration process to be simple and efficient.
