What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to save custom events and custom user segments so I can easily use them again in other charts. I also like the ability to offset my time window of the charts to make reporting of results easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I’d love some more flexibility on the presentation of the final chart.
If I break down a funnel by a certain step, you sometimes have multiple steps at the start of the funnel that are 100% for all properties - id like to be able to hide these to present the data in a more easy to read way for my stakeholders.
I’d also like a bit more flexibility in things like renaming steps/properties at the chart level just for neater, easier to read graphs (a bit like how you can rename user segments, or some event properties).
Lastly it would be nice to be able to add section headers to dashboards, to break out the different parts in an easier to digest manner.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use amplitude mostly to identify drop offs in different parts of our site (using the funnel type chart). Or to compare CVR of the site/parts of the site to last month, or last year to see we are improving. And we’ll a also use it to see how many people are using a new feature.
Lastly we’ve recently been using the time to convert type chart to improve our mobile experience.

Great Experience for Startup Product Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
The Amplitude software is intuitive to use, and easy to visualize different retention and growth metrics for our business. You're able to create groupings of users who share certain characteristics, and then use those cohorts of users to run further analysis on. The live dashboards allows you to come back to analysis you've done previously, and see a near-realtime chart of your data. Other features that I've found to be quite helpful are the ability to apply prebuilt analysis on our data. We can analyze daily, weekly, monthly retention figures, see the drop off of users after completing each step of a user path, and identify how our content is driving user sign ups. I also appreciate the ability to share analysis with the rest of my team, making it simple to share information with my coworkers, and allow them to manipulate the data as well. Amplitudes ability to gather complex user data through the use of automatic fields as well as the ability to build our own custom fields means that we're able to slice data in very precise ways.
What do you dislike about the product?
At least on our current plan tier, we were unable to rectify mistakes in our data collection we made early on. You aren't able to apply changes to users retroactively. So if you want to change a number of user_roles from "softdev" to "software_developer", the previous events that the users made won't be updated. Obviously it was our mistake for not setting up our roles in the way that we're using them now, but it would be nice if the product was a little more forgiving.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving retention and growth problems with Amplitude. As a startup, we're trying to create product market fit, and so amplitude allows us to see how the iterations to our product affect user retention and session length.

If you're looking to take your product analytics to the next level, I've been very impressed with the offerings that Amplitude has.

Firstly it's the speed of data update, reaching near real-time efficiency. Favorite features are event segmentation, user properties, and cohorts

The inability to modify historical data as sometimes we need to go back to an event that's already logged to update the user properties. Also it would be good to have more visualization methods in charting

It's great for product analytics; for business analysis that requires edits to historical data you may need to consider tradeoffs

What do you like best about the product?
There is no need to be an engineer to use Amplitude to get insights and collect data from the product. The insights that are gotten help make business decisions that are important for the roadmap of the product. And the integration is easy to do and doesn't require a lot of time or effort.
The reports and webinars that are very interesting and give good information on industries, data analysis and product analytics. All the areas are learning to use Amplitude Analytics and to understand user behavior patterns.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of functionalities that could be giving awesome insights and the tutorials don't explain them all. And the tool can sometimes be overwhelming with all the possible analysis that could be done. As everything is customizable, it can be difficult to start building dashboards and getting information. Tutorials and sessions with the Amplitude teams are very important. So instead of starting right away, there is a learning curve.
It is not easy to change the order of events if there are really a lot of them, and even using the "any order" option, it doesn't work and stops giving reliable information. Is a trial and error process until you find the correct point.

We are a new product, so we are learning on our customer's behavior and what is giving them trouble. Also, it gives us information about conversion and what we need to improve.

Helps Our Team Understand Our Users in an Easily Digestible Way
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to manipulate data sets is key to our understanding of how our users are behaving within our product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was a little more clear cut the timing of how the information is displayed and having a larger set definition so we could report year over year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're currently using Amplitude to understand our customer behavior and to identify areas of improvement within the product and within operations. By doing so we've increased our user conversions and our operational processes.
