An excellent choice for product analytics

  • August 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Their APIs and SDKs are easy to use - it's easy to get going. They offer a wide variety of analysis tools, which are all very performant. The customer support and documentation are excellent. They provide great resources about product analytics best practices, which are easy to implement in their tool. For scenarios not supported by Amplitude, they make it easy enough to export data into S3 or relational databases. Amplitude is investing heavily in product development, so the tools continue to improve all the time.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes time to transition to Amplitude for the SQL-native. There are enough gaps in capabilities that it doesn't completely replace the need for relational databases with product analytics for some analyst or data science scenarios.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude has been invaluable for us to understand and track the usage of features across our product quickly and at scale. It has truly democratized data at Qualtrics. Their stickiness and retention tools also make it easy to understand how this usage maps to outcomes we care about.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use GUI with integrations to Google Suite and other tools to allow me to work more productively.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fragmented nature of tools means that I have to switch modules to get the answers that I'm looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Funnel metrics for our app. Feature utilization and better understanding of how our users interact with the app.

Amplitude is truly a useful and intuitive tool for understanding your users

  • August 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the UI is easy to grasp. When I was onboarding with my current company and learning the tech stack, Amplitude was the easiest but also one of our most frequently used tools. Amplitude also allows me to answer many vital questions we have about our users in just a few clicks (vs. having to write SQL to query our database), so it saves a lot of time for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Amplitude gave us a way to peek into the backend on how the charts/reports/numbers are generated. There are times when we see activity anomalies or strange reporting that doesn't look right. But because we can't see what's happening under the hood of Amplitude, it takes more time to troubleshoot or reconcile conflicting numbers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding what our users are doing in our product, how often they use it, where they are hitting obstacles, and when do they come back.

Amplitude - great for data cutting

  • August 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is a great engine to cut data for folks who don't have the Python / SQL skills to get into the nitty gritty of coding
What do you dislike about the product?
The charts don't often look very nice and make exporting data still necessary
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Often I try to create rider cohorts to make understanding groups much easier and be more targeted with my offers. Saves a lot of money.

    Information Technology and Services

Excellent product analytics tool for growing product orgs

  • August 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- The manual instrumentation of events, while it does take extra time, forces product teams to really think about what they want to measure and why
- the chart creators are super simple and intuitive, and allow users to come up with quick insights and share with the team easily
- slack integration creates visibility across the team on what product is measuring
What do you dislike about the product?
- the manual instrumentation and ensuring taxonomy is clean has been an uphill battle
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- mostly we measure new features and the product metrics associated with those. it has given us a more data driven approach to determining if a feature is successful and ready to be generally available after a beta phase
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure you have professional services to help with implementation and training on an ongoing basis

What do you like best about the product?
Easy onboarding. Got to see my data coming in quickly
What do you dislike about the product?

Gather insights on user behavior on our apps

Amplitude is very fast and easy to use for everyone. There's a lot of features for the co-work like the notebook, templates. And they have an excellent customer success team.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price is a little bit high for the start-ups at an early stage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude makes it possible to track every event in the digital product and to analyze user behavior with various charts to get data insights for anyone.

    Architecture & Planning

Great analytical platform which keeps getting better

  • August 16, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The product is driven by good methodology for data governance, including clear descriptions, unified attributes across all events, event transformations and recovery from erroneous data feeds.
The UI for the data scientists rewards them with efficient autocomplete and plenty of documentation.
I love that the Amplitude team keep getting new features rolled out.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a little slow at times, but hey - we're throwing so much data on it...
The A/B support could use some help.
We would love to see better support for access control to events and charts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Amplitude to address charting, analysis and raising alerts.

    Retail

Has some limitations, but a great tool for customer behavior analysis

  • August 16, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is a fairly simple tool to use. The Amplitude team has been great to work with for walk-throughs and help with initial setup and implementation. The tool has good functionality for exploring customer behavior and pathing analysis for non-technical users.
What do you dislike about the product?
The navigation between reports is not always compatible and requires that you sometimes have to rebuild. You can't simply change the name of event properties, and that makes clean-up super tedious and manual, so it's better to have curated data flowing into the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to look at customer behavior and pathing on our website, and this helps us create a better customer experience.
