Great for mobile analytics

  • November 26, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My review is based on my experience working with analytics systems. I tried around 5 of them. Amplitude is the most powerful.
- It allows you to fine tune events and properties as you want
- It provides powerful reporting and dashboards
- Accurate data
- Easy to setup and configure
- Realtime data update
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are tracking lots of events, free version may not fit you well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly I use Amplitude for tracking users' behavior, measuring important metrics and conversion rates.

Amplitude is a must to analyze funnels, define user cohorts and understand your business

  • November 26, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to set funnels based on Events. It is really important that you set all the events in a proper way, once you have done that, it works very fluent.

In addition, the way we have combined Amplitude with other tools like AppsFlyer, Segment or Braze has made this combination great to analyze our business and take data driven decsions.

Another great feature is being able to share funnels with users outside of Amplitude, it makes it quite unique and easy to share.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Main problem is that sometimes it goes very slow, it takes time to load the charts and becomes a little annoying
2. Another thing to improve is that they go from a purely Free Plan to a pretty expensive one. It would be great to have something in the middle.
3. It would be great an integration with Google Data Studio so that you can have the best of the two worlds
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Main one we did was understanding our OnBoarding. We have a Mobile App and in two months after integrating Amplitude we went from a very long OnBoarding with 5% Conversion Rate to a 40% conversion rate. We saw clearly the drop-offs steps we put the focus on fixing those and once we did we had an ok OnBoarding conversion. Once you have cohorts it allows you segmenting your users to enhance engagement.
2. Provide visibility to the company so that they can all see what's happening
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Amplitude has a free plan to start testing it. I have only used it for Mobile apps and provides you in detail information about what's happening. If you don't have the time to setup funnels or analyze and you only need to analyze volume there are other tools like Google Analytics that does that work very easily.
Amplitude requires you to be methodic on the instrumentation and spending time learning and iterating

Create template dashboard, the must for me

  • November 25, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a partnership manager, Amplitude is very helpful to me to share generic trends about their account with our partners. This way the template feature is perfect for me and make me gain a lot of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
As someone who is not specifically familiar with analytic platforms, it sometimes is complicated to understand all amplitude features. But as there are a lot it for sure is something great for many users
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I said before, my main use is to observe data and trends in our application concerning my partners. This way Amplitude makes it simple for me to see and have an overview of everything I need quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'm probably not the best person to recommend this tool as it is not me the main user (I only use some features but I think there much more to do with Amplitude)

A very complete and performant Analytics tool

  • November 25, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude gives us a great understanding of how our users are using our platform. It's very easy to integrate into our apps, and very easy to use and read and understand data off.
I particularly like the release timeline feature, and how it enables us to see all of our mobile app updates shown in the charts we plot, which makes it easy to see how a particular update may have impacted some of our KPIs. On top of that, it can also function as an internal documentation tool, to list all of the updates we've done, with which changes, and how they've impacted our main metrics each time.
What do you dislike about the product?
As an Amplitude user, I can't really pinpoint something that I really dislike about it.
A couple of things that may be improved:
- I regularly switch from one project to the other, between our production project and our sandbox one, and sometimes I end up making charts on the wrong project without realizing.
- Between all the platform's features, my team spaces, and my dashboards, I sometimes feel like there are a lot of things on the screen, and it can lead to spending some time trying to find what I'm looking for, if I don't remember the name of the feature / dashboard / etc...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm mainly using Amplitude to do the following:
- Monitor the main metrics of my mobile apps: KPIs, new users, retention, etc...
- Create dashboards used to report those metrics to stakeholders.
- Investigate how users interact with each of the features we release.
- Investigate on who our users are, by using user properties.
- I can analyze the results of an A/B test too, by using an user property to split users into different groups
- I can trace the journey of specific users, which can a great help when debugging something in my app.
- I keep track of all the events I have added into my app and easily find which ones are not sent anymore.
- I use it as a source of truth for each release we do, and how they've impacted our metrics.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Nothing specific comes to mind.

Amplitude offers much better service than I expected.

What do you like best about the product?
It is very good to see the in-app behavior of each user separately. Analyzes prepared to see the behavior of all users or a certain segment meet all your needs
What do you dislike about the product?
Insight Add-On (Alert Mechanism) is paid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
-We have seen which module users use more in the application.
-We understood our mistakes faster.

Best girlfriend for a PM

What do you like best about the product?
The UX part - I had been using Clevertap for a year and thought that I was good in analytics as I can see downloads a load of files from there and can do amazing analysis all the time, spending more than a day sometimes. With Amplitude I actually got to know how better it can be, I always thought in Clevertap that there is a scope in this product and I think I can see that the Amplitude was that scope.
Best products I feel are those where you don't have to think much and can get habitual with less usage and Amplitude is built in the best possible way for me
What do you dislike about the product?
Downloading files, not sure why I feel this. But I feel that downloading data can be made a bit easier. It is similar to the other products I think, but still subconsciously I feel that there should be a better way to download the data or a spreadsheet type of an option in the product itself to check out graphs of retention, downloads, frequency at one place in a bunch of cohorts
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everything related to the analytics of the current product I am working at. Currently, we have started a new product, and just looking through the user paths have solved a lot of doubts for me personally to get into the conscience of the user

Best product analytics for startups

  • November 24, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The amplitude has excellent documentation. The extension helps the development team to test events and verify that everything is adequate.

The ease of navigation and the creation of reports is also very nice.

And especially the easy access for startups helps a lot!
What do you dislike about the product?
Retention analysis is still confusing. I also miss a greater relationship with visiting specific pages. A page flow is a nice feature that I miss a lot.

I am also dissatisfied with the targeting options. I believe that you can evolve these options a lot.

Regarding the team space, I think this feature is badly explored. I find its use confusing and basically I prefer to use only dashboards. Besides the team space, i feel that the release timeline is a little explored feature.
I believe that it should be possible to compare results from different versions of the same app. It is only signaled the day that the version went up, but not the entire period that version X was available.

Version-based comparison would be really useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use amplitude mainly to understand how is the behavior and use of users of my product.

The main benefits I see are in relation to the easy creation of funnels and charts to analyze revenue, acquisition and other funnels.

Exporting data via CSV helps a lot to create customized reports and today I use it a lot.

In addition to analyzing user behavior, today amplitude helps a lot as a form of user usage log. In many situations our operation team uses breadth to understand the process of a specific user.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The user look-up very well, as it helps a lot in the operation of the app.
Also use the google chrome extension. It always helps a lot to check for flaws in the events sent.

Behavioral analytics could have a free tier option
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
