amplitude analytics for e-commerce site/app
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude's funnel analysis is useful for seeing where users are dropping off in the purchase funnel. The user level analytics are helpful for getting percentage breakdowns of users (for example, how many users are using each type of operating system). It's also helpful to make sure events used for AB testing are firing in the correct place and that cohorts are being bucketed correctly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that any events/properties that are custom adds required the adder to include a description of what the event/property is, so its able to be used by the whole company without one person serving as a bottleneck for what the definition is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me analyze user behavior and traits across web and app to inform discovery work on pain points and hypotheses and it helps me analyze whether AB tests are set up as intended.
Good tool for digging into product analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of options for how to display and combine product behavioral data. It was easy to try different visualizations to gain insights and build cases for future investment.
What do you dislike about the product?
It took a while to figure out how to use the tool, especially if you were an occasional rather than regular user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed ways to understand user behavior for different products in a way that didn't involve meeting with product engineers or analysts to understand all of the different fields in our SQL database. This was an easier way to get the data we wanted.
Amplitude for Adoption Funnel Investigation
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude Analytics has helped us better understand our customer's usage and informed our research on identifying potential reasons for where customer might be leaving the adoption funnel of our product.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI sometimes gets complicated and confusing and there is potential to simplify that experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One big project we are leading is around investigating adoption funnel of a specific group of our customers and Amplitude has been critical in identifying the target audience for this research effort.
Great everyday product analytics tool
What do you like best about the product?
1. Quick and easy to create charts and dashboards and share them with your colleagues.
2. UI is very intuitive and aesthetic.
3. Tech Support has always been very fast and professional from the amplitude team.
4. I really like the event segmentation feature. It gives us ability to track the everyday data volume very efficiently.

What do you dislike about the product?
1. There is a learning curve for anyone to use it effectively.
2. You need a dedicated person/people to monitor the charts and dashboards everyday to make sure the they are up to date.
3. Documentations lacks detailed examples.
4. There's always a delay between the events published by source (Segment) and event information to appear on the amplitude charts.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use amplitude's event segmentation to keep track of the everyday product volume coming through the automation pipeline and create insights by building charts and dashboards. We then use these charts to debug the issues in the pipeline and create reports.

- Rigidity in terms of moving data upstream and downstream (dependence on external vendors)
- Rigidity in visualization and editing cosmetics of visualization

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have quickened the process of evaluating the results of AB Tests - Amplitude not only lets me measure the primary metrics, but also lets me do a deeper dive into secondary and territory metrics around customer LTV, customer long term retention etc.
I have also been able to run cross platform/geography/cohort comparisons for users belonging to different stages of the product lifecycle - quickly and easily.

The funnel breakdown functionality can be improved to better represent users path.

Quick insights but heavy ramp period
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to quickly create a chart and duplicate existing charts, it makes it easy to get insights really quick for feature releases as well as ongoing monitoring. I also like the breadth of charts offered, there's no shortage of interesting ways to look at user data.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's definitely a heavy ramp period, sometimes it's frustrating making decisions on data you don't feel very confident about. I also haven't really been able to isolate organic traffic using amplitude and have to use other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use amplitude to monitor feature performance, understand prioritization and understand engagement with what features lead to higher retention.
Great tool for mobile app analytics
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating and editing charts. It is in fact so easy that some of them I never saved and with a few clicks I create them each time again!
Realtime event browser (User Account Lookup / Event Explorer) is also very cool, helps to debug instrumentation a lot.
The ability to call Amplitude via API is also nice, it enables me to automate some of my cyclic work.

What do you dislike about the product?
The most painful thing for me is the lack of ability to create a nice, tree-like structure to organize my charts. I have like 100 of them and the only option is to create dashboards and add them there, but it still leaves me with ~30 dashboards which I'd like to group into some higher level folders like i.e. product areas.
Smaller things:
in charts, there's no possibility to find the number of how many certain event was performed (i.e. "login try event") before hitting another event (i.e. "login success").
I want some chart to show date range which is always last full month, *daily* - it is not possible to do it, I need to edit the chart every month manually.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it as an analytical tool for our mobile app. Thanks to it I can see what's working and what's not.

If you're looking for a nice tool for mobile app analytics providing good reporting and the ability to see the events live from your device - here it is.
