Monitoring and exhaustive analysis of the behavior of our customers regarding our product

  • August 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is an extensive tool with analytical capabilities, which provides adequate data monitoring, evaluating the behavior of our users according to the service we offer them with our product, sample at a glance with metrics and diagrams that specify all the monitoring, evaluating through reviews or comments they provide. The options for sharing the analysis are really simple, as easy as sending the link to any coworker so that they can review and monitor details and analyzes carried out. The funnel analysis and trends allow the job to be done in more detail and depth, with this it is much easier to notice from when these characteristics or some type of problem began. It has great tools and features that allow me to do my job with greater ease and efficiency to make much more detailed follow-ups, in addition to the segmentation that allows me to make plans for improving strategies.
What do you dislike about the product?
With many more graphics, loading panels would be faster; otherwise, the CSV download can be slow and tedious. I wish it had more metrics to represent the analyzed data, more dynamic and visual, however what you already have works very well. For the rest of the functions it seems to me that it is an incredible platform!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Amplitude we managed to evaluate and record the activity of all our users, evaluate their route and track retention. Without having to be an expert in coding, it is possible to do exhaustive analysis and follow-ups, evaluate the trend lines which allows us to see the changes in the numbers and thus detail all the behavior, in which case we study the diagrams, evaluate the changes and we plan better change strategies. It has benefited us with the visualization of events and the organization of them, it shows us the results obtained from our work, whether it be questionnaires or surveys that we have carried out with our clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a powerful tool, with many analysis capabilities, it is fluid, with powerful tools and customer support that does not fail. Why do I recommend it? Because in my work it has been really useful, and our clients are the biggest beneficiaries thanks to the improvement of the service we offer them.

Excellent tool for capturing meaningful usage data and metrics

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like how Amplitude enables me to slice and dice our usage information to find meaningful insights and easily inform our product enhancement decisions with real data. Many times teammates will ask large questions about how something is used, and I'm typically able to answer the question in a few seconds by accessing dashboards I've created previously. Before we had Amplitude, I often had to request that data be extracted from our suystem which could take days or weeks. With Amplitude, I have this information at my fingertips.
What do you dislike about the product?
It took a while for our software engineers to feel comfortable adding the instrumentation to our codebase, so there were times where it was a bit of a trade-off to decide whether to add instrumentation or make other product enhancements with our limited capacity. Additionally, while I really enjoy the visualizations, I feel limited in my ability to overlay analyses on top of each other. For example, there have been instances where I want to show two different sets of data in a single chart but this isn't supported. As a result, I've had to export data from Amplitude to Excel to show my preferred visualization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been trying to understand how our clients are using our new and legacy experiences in order to track migration from the old to the new, and to determine where to focus our optimization efforts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time to review the full suite of analytics tools, as there is a lot to benefit from. I find myself focusing on about 10% of the available functionality, but feel there is much more to use. We also took advantage of some in-person training sessions that were incredibly valuable. These were really useful in understanding the different types of analytical tools available and learning how to implement them.

It may just be a limitation in my understanding of the functionality, but I don't believe there is an
option to see heatmaps of clicks. If this is key for your use case, this is an important factor to consider.

Sophisticated and intuitive product analytics tool

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how intuitive Amplitude is. It is really made for everyone. I think this matches Amplitudes vision to make analytics accessible to everyone and not only to data people. It's easy to play around with it, well explained and offers the opportunity to go extremely deep into understanding user behaviour. Also, it's easy to set up for developers and also well documented.
What do you dislike about the product?
Amplitude introduces features at a high pace. Sometimes one can get a bit lost about all the possibilities and new features. Nevertheless, I never felt this is a problem because we had great customer success managers and documentation that helped us getting up to speed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a product manager and use Amplitude mostly for:
-Seeing how users engage with features / products
-Creating funnels to see where users drop off
-Checking the lifetime of our users
-Analysing retention of the users
-Creating dashboards to monitor key product events and performance
-Creating data storybooks of charts to share with colleagues internally

and much more... but mainly understanding user behaviour.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think it's really the best product out there. I suggest you take advantage of customer success managers because they can really help you getting up to speed. Also make sure you are very careful about implementing a good taxonomy according to best practices.

Very powerful set of features to understand and segment user behaviour

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to dig on your user behaviour to analyze in depth your activation, retention, engagement within the product.
As opposed to only have SQL queries which are longer to make, requires a great setup if you want to be able to segment easily, hence ask for time to be maintained, with Amplitude you can easily go and dive into whatever actions you want, segment them, create cohorts and analyse every kind of drivers for every lifecycle part of your users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's hard to understand how the cohorts are calculated. There are a lot of options to build your cohorts but it's not like with SQL where you can be sure of what's happening under the hood. Although the support is pretty great and you can feel the Amplitude team is aware that the product can be quite complex at the beginning so there is a lot of education all around every screen.

It can be sometimes a bit heavy to update charts titles and so on. Loading time + back and forth.
The product is improving a lot over time so heading in the right direction. I lack the ability to structure dashboards a bit more (like in notebooks)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude helps to understand what drives conversion within your product. Non tech people can also have a look which is great for data-driven culture.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They have a great live demo to experience Amplitude's power.

What do you like best about the product?
The design is intuitive, and Amplitude's functionalities are easy to use. At Mobimeo, we have many users outside of the analytics team using Amplitude. It brings self-service analytics to a new level.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not so many online classes available
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- creating visualizations, dashboards and notebooks
- retention analysis
- funnel analysis
- LTV analysis

Product Analyst

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that's a tool accessible to everyone regardless of their technical background. In other words, you don't need to know SQL or other coding languages to use amplitude.
What do you dislike about the product?
Firstly, there are some basic SQL limitations, for example, you can't use "or" arguments on the where clause. Second, It has limitations in terms of the analysis you can build with it outside form the proposed templates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly usage and retention problems. One huge benefit is that you can easily identify how users are interacting with your app (with the pathfinder for example). Also, I loved the recent feature "historical count" which has helped us identify milestones and retention drivers in our product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It has limitations for more specific analysis.

Great tool making job easier for any analytical role

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. Great and professional support from Amplitude team
2. Variety of different features to analyze product and user journey
3. Real-time data option
4. Data comparison feature helps a lot when checking different kind of drops or increases in volumes
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Long loading time for reports with larger number of filters
2. Need extremely detailed tagging in order for all events would be captured correctly
3. Event segmentation feature is not intuitive
4. Not all events show in user journey can be used in event segmentation or funnel analysis charts
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Amplitude Analytics for site/mobile app monitoring. It is very convenient to check API health, receipt trend, conversion rates and user journey from one step to another. We are also building dashboards in order to monitor our product health and various KPIs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have a clear plan of what is needed in your organization and prepare detailed tagging plan: what events you would like to track, what information needs to be captured.

Intuitive to use platform that makes data accessible to all stakeholders

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is incredibly easy to create a chart and gain insights based on data without any in-depth knowledge of data analysis. It's also easy to share these charts with different members of the team all in one platform. Team members that aren't so familiar with analytics are also able to gain insights by themselves.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because it is easy to use and focuses on the creation of the most common graphs, sometimes it isn't as easy to create custom graphs or very specific edge cases. I've found that some of the features on one type of chart don't necessarily exist on a different type of chart which sometimes makes it a bit confusing to use. I'd also like to be able to group events inside a chart so that they appear under one 'data set' but as far as I have seen it isn't possible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I am from a product background, I look at what users are doing inside the product, and who those users are. I was able to quickly compare an onboarding funnel from one version to the next after making a slight tweak and was almost instantly able to see that the change had made an improvement in the overall conversion of users into the product. Similarly, I was able to identify what events users were doing on their first day that stuck around for 2 or more weeks using the product and have been able to apply that knowledge to getting more users using it for a longer time.

Great ability to set up for easy access be other team members

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Setting up charts and dashboards that answer the regular questions allows the rest of the team to get insight without my intervention. Freeing me to focus on the more difficult questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Funnel charts are great but we find we hit their limitations often. The 30 event limit mean we often split up long funnels between multiple charts. Also when building large funnels the data refreshes after every change which can slow down how quickly you can make changes. A pause refresh while making changes would go a long way here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solve both business problems, and design problems with ease. The benefit of having all this data in one place is that we can make informed trade offs concerning user experience and revenue generation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get in contact with them early as they have a team that will help you not only technically implement Amplitude but also ensure your data engineering is following best practices that they have learnt from their experience with others using Amplitude
