Great tool to track and improve where to focus and where are lagging in your product
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to track the user events, user retention and user life cycles. It also easy to filter out the events based on the properties and and it also super easy to set the custom properties to track. I love the event segmentation feature to filter our based on the event and the user properties, funnel analysis to analyse conversion of users over time. My workspace to find out the charts quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes some time to complete the initial configuration and set events to track. But it's okay and it's worth of time investment. It's felt difficult to find exactly what we need, need some improvement in the documentation section.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to solve the consistency in learning new skills for the developers through the 100 days of continuously coding challenge. Amplitude helps to track the users, who are continuous taking the challenge, how many days they are maintaining the streak, where they are left out. It helps to figure out where we need to focus more and where to need to improve to increase the conversion rate. It also super useful to save the charts in the dashboard(My workspace), so that we can find out it quickly and there is no need to do it again and again, which saves a time lot.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's an excellent tool for those who need to focus on users behaviour and to find out feature adoptability rate.
Best Analytics tool out there. Literally THE BEST.
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is like SQL with a UI. It's super fast. It gives a variety of charts. It gives a variety of dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't have re-engagement module, like Push Notifications etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can check our retention, stickiness and session analytics with Amplitude in a way no other analytics platform provides.

You get deep into the analytics with huge amounts of granularity.

Given the complexity of the tool, there's no training from their staff and the documentation isn't great for teaching others in the company.

Being able to see our user journeys and flag up problems with the product to fix.
Love the product, would like more querying capabilities

The ease of forming the queries. I love the experience when making charts.

Amplitude takes care of many use cases but I think it falls short on few corner cases that I think the current querying options do not support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using amplitude to analyse user drop offs in our android product. Amplitude has been of great use here. With funnel analysis we were able to identify and solve many user pain points.

Stop guessing, amplitude will help you base your reasons with data. Amplitude have a great community and documentation. Is the hassle-free analytics platform.
Strong analytics but hard to get going
What do you like best about the product?
The detail of the data we can see when using amplitude, you can get down into the weeds.
What do you dislike about the product?
No premade chart templates, so there is a very big cold start problem
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Customer activation/onboarding stats. We use amplitude to dive into why our customers don't active by looking at their behaviours.
A reliable and easy to learn tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to save custom events and custom user segments so I can easily use them again in other charts. I also like the ability to offset my time window of the charts to make reporting of results easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I’d love some more flexibility on the presentation of the final chart.
If I break down a funnel by a certain step, you sometimes have multiple steps at the start of the funnel that are 100% for all properties - id like to be able to hide these to present the data in a more easy to read way for my stakeholders.
I’d also like a bit more flexibility in things like renaming steps/properties at the chart level just for neater, easier to read graphs (a bit like how you can rename user segments, or some event properties).
Lastly it would be nice to be able to add section headers to dashboards, to break out the different parts in an easier to digest manner.

We use amplitude mostly to identify drop offs in different parts of our site (using the funnel type chart). Or to compare CVR of the site/parts of the site to last month, or last year to see we are improving. And we’ll a also use it to see how many people are using a new feature.
Lastly we’ve recently been using the time to convert type chart to improve our mobile experience.
