Data storytelling is easy with Amplitude

What do you like best about the product?
I like pathfinder a lot along with journeys (for conversion and dropoffs) which makes my work easier to check different paths of users quickly without building complex queries. I also find funnel analysis super useful to check conversion from one page to another
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it takes too much time to get data or open a chart from the dashboard. Also if I open more than one tab it makes my computer slow (using google chrome as browser may be related to that)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How different variants perform compared to baseline/control groups in experiments (A/B test), in which pages and flows our users drop mostly, how well converted our users from one page to another in our app and website. Where our traffic is coming from (organic or paid traffic), impact of advertorials/campaigns with real-time tracking, changes on daily, monthly activity (users). Most important benefit for us to be able to turn business questions into insights quickly
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Amplitude for turning business questions into insights quickly and tracking changes on daily, monthly activities. In addition to that, it helps solving how different variants perform compared to baseline/control groups in experiments, in which pages and flows our users drop mostly, how well converted our users from one page to another in our app and website. It's possible to track where your app/web traffic is coming from (organic or paid traffic) by using user properties for App and Web. Along with paid/organic traffic breakdown, tracking the impact of advertorials/campaigns in real-time is beneficial.

A one stop solution for Product Analytics

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude's variety of analytics tools helps empower all levels of users to access and understand product analytics. It's plethora of features like funnels, pathfinder, retention analysis and allow teams to get answers to all types of questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the biggest drawbacks in our use case is that Amplitude does not store a 'true' device ID. For a user, device ID can be changed each time their data or storage is cleared.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding funnel dropoffs across various flows like sign up, help/support etc. As well as tracking user adoption across any new feature is something that we always do on Amplitude now.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you aren't using any other Product Analytics software, then I highly recommend getting one. And amplitude is the way to go! If you're already using one, just compare the one you have with the features on Amplitude. When we were weighing our options and landed on Amplitude, it was the most uncomplicated call to make!

A good analytics platform with funnel vision

What do you like best about the product?
The most useful feature is really the funnel analysis one.
It is very easy to do, quite reliable and answers a lot of needs.
If you have a doubt on a funnel, then you can easily deep dive with Journeys.
It's also a very strong differentiator to other analytics solution that i'm aware of.


The team is responsive, and since Mid-2024 has been shipping a lot on Amplitude Analytics, which is nice, you can feel they think about your use cases.

It integrates very well in our stack with segment.

Our adoption rate in our organisation is about 25% of the organisation, 15% of that being outside of Data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the documentation is not clear on what is the data you are looking at (on traits that are part of the amplitude doc).
But this is partially due to our implementation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We analyzing our acquisition funnels, focusing on how our users are using the product.
Thanks to amplitude we are able to identify the issues in our funnel, very quickly.

We are also monitoring our feature usage and this is quick and easy to do in Amplitude.

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is an amazing analytics self-service tool. It allows users to make sense of very large event data sets and analyze user behavior on digital products. Pros:
Can process a huge amount of event data very quickly.
An intuitive and user-friendly interface makes it easy to use for people who do not code.
Very complete package with many features such as taxonomy, user management data import and export.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very expensive especially when compared to competitors. There could be more advanced modes for customized graphics. Visualizations and dashboards are too rigid with no flexibility of customization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analyze user behavior in digital products.
Funnel analysis
Retention Analysis
Calculate the number of users
A/B testing of new features.
Cohort analysis and audience building.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Amplitude is very complete but expensive, check if competitors fulfill your requirements as it might be much cheaper.

What do you like best about the product?
A quick way to iterate and test different kinds of assumptions about your product usage. Fairly easy to use and support replies quickly. Lots of improvements in the tool lately
What do you dislike about the product?
There are limitations for example when you try to plot all the data and you can only select max 30 items. Also when you wan more advanced features things can get pricey
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product usage analytics for the product managers and the engineering team. We can quickly iterate and get answers to some of the questions what the design or engineering might have.

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to create dashboards and share with team members easily - we can all contribute to campaign analysis providing greater ownership of performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting it up was more difficult than we were expecting, it required professional support to ensure it was done correctly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great understanding of user journeys and challenges in our sales funnel.

What do you like best about the product?
Event segmentation to find out how high GMV has been made daily.
I used to get data with sql, and it took a pretty long time, but now it takes only a few seconds.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even I want to combine two charts, it does not have any related function.
Few of my colleagues asked me for a function like GA(combining two charts), and I certainly needed to explain the difference. lol
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It doesn't need much time to count how many actions have been made yesterday.
Event segmentation is that excellent lol
which makes me follow the business trends easily.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is pricy but makes your job easy and does not take much time either.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that amplitude allows you to make a chart in one kind of view, like event segmentation, and you can change it to a funnel analysis with one click without having to remake the chart. I also find the feature which allows you to view the events triggering live in-app by putting in my user id into the built-in window above the charts.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's very frustrating that end dates on charts cannot be set to a date in the future. I make template dashboards for A/B tests that I routinely run. I want to be able to make the dashboard while the test is running, but if I use a template with closed date brackets, I'm unable to, and if I use a template with open-ended date ranges when the test is over, I need to go back and update the end date on every chart.

It'd helpful that you are able to hover over bars in bar charts to get the value of the bar, but it would be helpful if I was able to do that when the chart is open in a window which is not my current window. I work with multiple montiors so when I am referencing charts to put numbers in documents, I need to repeatedly click between windows.

It's also helpful that my dashboards save to my pinned dashboards but I do not need them all there and there is no bulk option so I cannot easily manage my sidebar as I will make dozens of dashboards on certain days. The moving of charts on a dashboard can also be improved so charts fill in empty spaces when possible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Amplitude to analyze user behavior in our E-Reading app. Being able to view every action a user takes in-app and how much they interact with each feature has been highly beneficial to us to understand what type of content our users are most interested and what product features we should invest in.

What do you like best about the product?
The variety of ways that I am able to analyze data - whether funnel, retention, lifecycle, etc - is unmatched. I can dive deep into the metrics and pull invaluable analyses, all with the ability to reach out to their readily available Support Team. Their support team consists of pleasant and knowledgeable agents. Some are Data Analysts who can help build and infer charts, while others are friendly support agents who help troubleshoot when something goes awry (it rarely does).

The support articles also are exceptionally well written and easy to understand + apply to my certain study & findings!

There was only one time where Amplitude was unable to answer the question I was asking, and within that afternoon I was discussing a roadmap with their team to implement that feature. They are always looking for feedback and ways to improve their product!
What do you dislike about the product?
Truly the toughest part of Amplitude is the learning curve. I would not call it a "steep" learning curve, but it does take a while to become fluent in the software and its capabilities. However, this is likely the case with ANY Data Analytics software that you may be considering.

Tech debt can build up quickly. It requires coordination on all team members who have access to Amplitude to understand what each event does (there are note sections for each event, but requires manually entry). This is only an issue if you/your team struggle to be organized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been looking into our retention analytics and using those findings to help design A/B experiments in the coming months. We are able to make informed and calculated decisions based on our various cohorts, created by our own specific criteria, and which regularly update as Amplitude records new data entries.

Additionally, we have a deeper understanding of the demographics, user proficiency, and preferences of our users because of what Amplitude is able to help us calculate!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Provide as much detail and ask as many questions as you can! Amplitude can help meet your needs most effectively when you paint as vivid of a picture as possible. If you are ever stumped on finding an answer, do not hesitate to contact their support team, someone is always quick to respond!
