A great tool we can't live without, a steep UIX learning curve but works very well

  • August 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- No limits to the amout of data we can send even on the free plan
- Clean visuals
- Possibilties to add all team members on the free tier
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Steep learning curve for UIX. Doesn't intuitively match with spreadsheet graphs.
2. I can view a graph in only 1 view. Let's say I want to see the same graph in 2 separate time frames then I have create 2 different charts altogether. This is very clunky. It should have the posisbility to view teh same chart in multiple views.
3. Lack of learning resources. Contrast with Webflow.com. It is EXCELLENT in terms of the learning resources it provides. Compare to that Amplitude is a 2 / 10. This makes the learning curve harder.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Regularly and easily view product analytics

Best product analytics tool I've been using for more than 4 years now

  • August 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Event-based structure of data, lighting speed, well-thought free plan, great account managers, almost endless possibilities to tweak the data however you want.
What do you dislike about the product?
A huge price/cost leap between the freemium and paid plan + "a very good" approach to what include in the cheapest paid plan (business-wise for Amplitude). I'd love to have some of the features in the freemium plan that we currently use (in a previous company we had a paid one).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
That you can finally design the product/business funnel just the way you want. If you create the tracking plan well, then it gives you endless possibilities to both analyze day-to-day performance and do awesome explorations for the next projects/optimizations.

At the same time, it's dead simple to implement it thanks to great documentation, SDKs and API. Last, but not least, it's easily integrated with any tools we use, from VWO or Google Optimize, to email sending services or other tools.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how versatile the analytics are, we can easily pull out information in many different forms. The demo account has tons of tips and training which is very useful to help understand the data and translate it into insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had some issues with our data source and support did take a bit longer than ideal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it for product analytics and user insights.

Attractive software - easy to share results

  • August 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The design of the graphs. Ability to easily filter users. Graphs are well explained through tutorials.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the labelling is a bit complex. Sometimes I lose track of my work progress - automatic progress saving step-by-step might help me. Similar to how you can look back through code in R to see what you have done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving user queries. Understand early user behaviour for an app. User retention.

What do you like best about the product?
Key capabilities for behavior-based analysis
What do you dislike about the product?
Hierarchy of spaces, dashboards and charts is not intuitive. Not always obvious how some more complex things work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding how users use our products
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have a try first and use Segment to feed it so that you don't overly rely on it

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is like a full data scientist working for you. It has so many features out of the box that make it it a breeze to work with
What do you dislike about the product?
The price point is definitely on the steep side, although you can apply for a scholarship if you are just founded and less than 20 people
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're constantly reviewing the behaviours correlated to usage of certain features. This gives us more information about what to build next for maximum impact
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Speak to someone from the sales team for a trial

One of the best out there for product analytics

  • August 18, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use in setting up specific types of charts, sharing with teammates, digging deeper into data, custom events, exports, custom user attributes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some IA and navigation don't quite make sense (e.g. saved dashboards vs pinned dashboards, spaces).

Restructuring data if you don't like the way you originally set it up is a bit of a pain, but I suspect this is the case with any vendor. For example, we had to redo work to unify our iOS and Android projects into one mobile project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding user behavior in our product, finding groups of users that have taken a particular action, monitoring launches to make sure things are working as intended.

Comprehensive Product Analytics Solution for Early-Stage application development

  • August 18, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use for isolating user properties and event properties to build custom charts and dashboards. Amplitude is simple to use and integrate with our tech development. Once amplitude is up and running, it is quite intuitive to use for product analytic purposes. Amplitude is also very generous in its free version offering, working in a start up, this weighed into our decision making when deciding on a product analytics tool to use for building our app.

The ability to create workspaces and share charts / attach comments on charts is great to enable collaboration within the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Chart types are limited and additional customization of chart visualizations are limited. Based on my usage to date, I found it slightly difficult to get detailed insights related to product marketing / traffic conversion. Amplitude may not be the best tool to use for marketing / sales metrics so one would likely need to look at another tool for that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding our customer user journey, identifying key app activities that drive retention, user drop off.. Our organization has been using amplitude for roughly 10 months now, and we have been able to extract many valuable product insights that help with our product decision making.

Some examples include optimizing our onboarding process to reduce drop off on sign up rates, and general hypothesis testing of new feature releases to determine whether version releases are achieving the success metrics originally outlined.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a tool that requires slightly more technical implementation compared to other tools. Will require development time. Additionally, depending on how many events you need to track, I would recommend QA testing to ensure events are logging properly and event properties / user properties are captured correctly.
