Indispensible tool for product managers

  • November 24, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility to create detailed segments for user analysis, the ease of being able to understand retention and conversion, the ease of being able to share charts and dashboards with our team
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not always as easy as it could be to create cohorts of users - but it's a minor issue
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to understand user behaviour, validate qualitative insights and measure the effectiveness of changes we make to our product.

Very easy and intuitive to work with, I can get insights very fast by myself!

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact I can create charts instantly and select the audience I want to see the statistics on. I like it that I can switch between funnel analysis, to pathfinder very easily. The audience feature is great cause I can create many audiences and save it! Ithis way I can analyze things very quickly on the right users.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is hard to understand which chart type is best for my case. I think Amplitude needs to provide some kind of examples I can understand and play with. In general, I would expect Amplitude to give me some proactive tips based on the events I'm using and its high-level frequency. for example in path find there are some events which 'garbage " the paths, so I would expect Amplitude to recommend me to exclude it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly I used it for path analysis which is great!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Amplitude gives you an easy start to understanding your users' behavior. You can throw events to the charts and play with it analysis easy. You can switch between funnel to path analysis, change the time frame and slice the audience. As a product manager, it is important for me to be independent with the analysis I want and need. Can initiate the analysis by myself and if I need to drill in I will ask from the analytics team. In most of cases, I manage to analyze it by myself. The performance of the product is pretty good and I get results very fast.
I highly recommend it.

Love Amplitude | A must need for product companies

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude's chart creation and viewing process is super simple. If Amplitude could have more articles and videos on the best practices of sending across events to Amplitude, it would be even better.
What do you dislike about the product?
We currently have the basic version of Amplitude. We could do with more features in this vesion given we are just a small startup with not so deep pockets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to track events and actions at an user level. That has been the biggest benefit. We can track funnels which is a great feature.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend Amplitude to others. This has been, along with Google Analytics, my favorite Analytics platform.

Powerful tool, but not great for everyone

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude gives me the flexibility I need to review data and learn about my users.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that I could email reports on a weekly basis, and that some of the dashboard tools were more intuitive for non-technical users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude allows our team to better understand user behavior on our platform.

Solid analytic tool for a data-informed product team

  • November 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most common analyses are fairly straightforward to do in Amplitude, and they clearly care about making those useful out-of-the box.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of their user segmentation and event filtering is very error prone and has a lot of gotchas, which requires a lot of double-checking to make sure it's correct.
Their collaboration is mostly non-existent and it's very much single-player of a tool which sometimes is hard to work with, especially given the fact that most of their interface and UI is fairly slow and sluggish.

On top of that, some advanced analysis is really hard to do with Amplitude, which means we either can't do it, or that we need to use something like Tableau to get it done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mobile app analytics to understand usage, retention, and what user journeys work best.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Careful with the pricing, can get expensive very quickly if sending a firehose of analytics.

As much depth as you want

What do you like best about the product?
Google Analytics didn't cut it anymore. My company needed engagement analytics that were easily configurable to see how users were truly interacting with our product.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is initial set up time to get the dashboards configured in a way that let's our analytics team run. These could be slightly easier to configure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Attribution - it was difficult with Google Analytics to figure out where growth was coming from. Amplitude is much better.
2. Dashboard selection- it is easy for different teams at the company to tune into only the dashboards that matter most
3.Configurability - it's easy to build reports that show correlation between disparate metrics. (i.e. churn and engagement)

I have enjoyed using Amplitude

  • November 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use. As a complete novice, I was able to quickly understand the model of saving, opening and loading charts. I especially like how easy it is to make changes to existing charts without affecting the saved versions, encouraging experimentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Looking at event segmentation is the trickiest, it would be great to be able to utilise pivot tables, in a similar way to Looker
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Amplitude as our general data analytics platform, so for a combination of evaluating experiments and unearthing new insights.

Impressive Analytics Platform

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude has clearly built their product leveraging actual industry experience. There's a lot they have improved upon from comparable products like Mixpanel. Amplitude also clearly knows why businesses use analytics--there are so many built in tools regarding dashboards, metrics, growth, retention, etc. The entire product works very well together and after a small learning curve, it's easy enough to use. Although at times I still prefer to be able to directly work with the data, Amplitude can be a godsend for those with less coding/querying knowledge. Startup scholarship is also awesome!
What do you dislike about the product?
The product is clearly built for people who don't really want to touch the data directly--like PMs or business analysts. Personally I would prefer to be able to access/query the raw event data as well. Some of the tools and definitions could have better clarification. Pricing can be a bit high.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick visualizations with data that are accessible by the team, dashboards, monitoring metrics, and built-in retention analysis tools. Clear benefits are time spent: we can focus on building and improving our product rather than spending a lot of upfront time working out the metrics or analyses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're a startup, I highly recommend you apply to their startup scholarship--it's a no-brainer. While providing similar features as Mixpanel and other analytics platforms, Amplitude is simply a cleaner and more robust offering. I decided to make the switch to Amplitude after being frustrated with Mixpanel and doing research on user feedback with various tools.

Great for trial and customer engagement visibility

  • November 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The level of depth you can see about users in our product. Knowing what aspects of the product they are visiting, how much time their spending in different areas, if multiple people are engaged with the product from the same organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be tricky on the configurations to get the perspective I'm looking for. It's typically there but a challenge to configure at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trial user engagement - biggest question I want to answer.
