Qlik Sense Data Visualization
What do you like best about the product?
Qlik Sense is very easy to use for an end user, and is responsive out of the box(works across all screen sizes). Once data is loaded into an app, it is extremely fast in the UI with almost no 'data chug' even with data sets with tens of millions of rows. It is very easy to extend Qlik Sense with custom visualizations or even use the data engine to build your own applications, the API is great. The community is solid and does a good job responding to inquiries in a timely manor
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI can be a bit inflexible, it would be nice to have non-responsive dashboards that allow us to break away from the snap to grid default. Larger sheet canvases would also be great.
The set analysis formula syntax, while powerful, can be difficult to learn for a new user.
I don't think that some of the resource filter options for security rules in the QMC are as well defined as they could be.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time to value accelerated greatly. We're able to consolidate thousands of reports into meaningful dashboard representations. This allows us to see the entire company from 5000 ft up and drill down to ground level as the situation requires it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try out Qlik Sense Desktop version, it's free and has almost every feature other than the enterprise administration features.
Great Possibilities
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to associate different data sets without the need for database coding knowledge is extremely appealing for our small shop. The affordable cost is another strong reason why we chose Qlik. We talked to several other customers of Qlik who all shared that the adoption of the product was great with little resistance to the change.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to see improved information sharing across users. It seems like an easy improvement for Qlik to enable users to shared sheets directly with selected users, incorporating some annotation features would also be of value.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Separated data sets. And lowering the barrier to access data to users of different skills and time ability.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A lot of bang for the buck. Approachable UI for light technology users.
My Experience
What do you like best about the product?
The navigation between reports and the ease of access
What do you dislike about the product?
Too Cumbersome. The design is complex and the users have to have a thorough understanding to operate it correctly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Marketing, Operations, Food and Beverage and human resource dashboards
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Review to understand its functionality and see if it meets your needs
Ease of Use
What do you like best about the product?
Short time to create and launch apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
Licensing model has changed resulting in higher cost of ownership.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Looking to connect data without creating a datawarehouse. Also provides for associative analysis capability.
Dynamic Software with Apps anyone can use
What do you like best about the product?
How fast it can zoom in and out of data - we deal with millions upon millions of records. The speed at which we can zoom into a single day's individual location punch in by a single officer when the data set contains 1500 officers, for a 24/7 operation, over the course of 5 years, is astounding.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of training resources. Myself and our IT administrator took the advanced and administration courses respectively, and there is still a lot we need to learn. There really are no technical resources we can purchase, other than the 3 courses from Qlik Sense, the one official book on the market, or paying for a bevy of consultants.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a large scale security operation and we learned how we lose worked hours by various leave types (sickness, training, union work, bereavement, Vacation, etc.). We see where we are spending our Overtime costs the most, and using percentages to see where the inefficient regional sites are and how best to address the financial implications.
Our current production App for our Operations Team puts together a team structure by Operation Manager to Service Delivery Manager to Officer. It shows all of their locations, shift times, attendance (instances and hours), and a host of other information. With this, we are able to eliminate Excel, Sharepoint, and 1000s of emails to manage this.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time with the solutions architect in learning how to deploy your company's data through Qlik Sense. This will tell you whether the software is right for you.
Also, ask about training resources, as we went through trial by fire - I took the advanced course and our IT administrator took the administration course. We felt that the resources provided through the courses were not sufficient, and we purchased the software to be largely self sustaining.

Easy to use, easy to administer
What do you like best about the product?
With a couple days of training, I was able to create and modify charts for my company as an admin. Trends in our data can be easily identified, tracked, and reported. Business users in all areas of the company can use this tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data is not real-time. We do nightly refreshes. It was difficult for us to determine how to lock down the data that passes from our ERP to QlikView in the nightly refreshes - this process took some effort from our IT team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to get traditional Finance data out to the field so they can identify trends and opportunities quickly. Salespeople in the field now have one place to go to check progress against quota, and they don't have to contact Finance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend doing the training in person if possible. You're going to be able to use this tool properly if you can separate yourself from your normal daily routine long enough to focus on the training.
Qlikview for Reporting
What do you like best about the product?
I love the visual display, and ability to customize reporting. The dashboards are great!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that there was a way to save criteria selections for users, like a "favorite reports" (for frequently used reports)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Operational reporting, and providing drill-down ability
QlikSense Beginner
What do you like best about the product?
It is much more visually friendly for the end user.
What do you dislike about the product?
Depending on the end user, it can be very hard to navigate thru some of the features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly financial reporting. It is a great tool to show graphs and charts
Easy to use / flexibel / multiple sources
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use / flexibel / multiple sources
What do you dislike about the product?
Memory cache use on server is not really low,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring our Outbound Performance
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to use / flexibel / multiple sources
Great tool for building dashboards
What do you like best about the product?
Fully customizable dashboards, with only a bit of querying and transformation experience required. If you do know what you're doing, though (or have someone on staff that does), then you can create some impressive integrations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI tends to be slow at times, and bogs down with larger dataset.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're always trying to be fully aware of the lifetime value of our customers. Qlik has allowed us to take that information and democratize it, so to speak, so that all the staff knows the information they need to succeed.
