What I like most about Celonis is that it is a very interactive and user friendly process analysis tool. The tool also offers many useful features for process mining. Furthermore, implementation and integration are easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I like least about the application is the fact that two users cannot edit the same view or dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently, Celonis helps me analyze processes and discover inefficiencies in processes. By discovering route causes and bottle necks, we are able to help teams continually improve their processes.

Povides valuable data visualization capabilities and highly stable solution

What is our primary use case?

We have done ITSM. And for Citibank, we have done some process mining. I have done it for Citibank. And for accounts payable, we have done it for one of our clients. For resolution time and DSOs, on-time deliveries, all this is what we have done.

What is most valuable?

I find Action Engine for notifying the user, and also Studio Spark, and knowledge models; all these features are useful.

Action flows are still very useful, like for notifying the user, notifications, alerting them, updating the tables, and notifying the approvals side for ITSM so that the on-time delivery would be increased or the resolution time would decrease.

What needs improvement?

I want to see improvements in terms of machine learning. In the future, there are a lot of things to do with machine learning, so I want to do that with Celonis.

Another area of improvement is implementation. So, in future releases, I would like to see a more streamlined implementation process would be appreciated, making it less time-consuming and more efficient.

Also, there is room for improvement in technical support.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Celonis for three and a half years now. So, we use EMS.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable solution. There are ten people in our team using this solution. We are looking to expand the usage of the solution.

How are customer service and support?

Customer service and support depend on the partnership we have with them, but they respond to us quickly within a day or two. We have good support, which is compared to other tools like UiPath, and Celonis has good support. We receive good support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I was trying out Tableau before. I worked with it for three to four months. But Celonis is the first tool I worked with separately.

I also tested UiPath. But Celonis is better from a development perspective. Celonis is very compatible with the developer side because of the transformations that UiPath is doing; we have to download and do the necessary transformations in Visual Studio, and then we should upload it and test it in a test environment. I have seen that it's not that compatible compared to Celonis.

In Celonis, we have a custom building of KPIs and all, but in UiPath, we have only some metrics and aggregated functions we can use. We cannot customize the metrics like we can in Celonis.

Also, in Celonis, it's obvious how we can design our dashboard however we like, but in UiPath, we cannot do that. We can only adjust the VPN lens, which is not as good as what I feel. When it comes to extraction, it supports only a few things. They have only a few templates I have, where the service provides a hundred plus ads, which you cannot directly inject your data.

But in Celonis, you have the option to do that. When it comes to data science, you need a separate license for UiPath, which is another added cost. So, UiPath is, of course, is different from Celonis in various aspects.

How was the initial setup?

For Celonis, the initial setup depends on what type of connection it is. Suppose it's RTSM or something like that, we can have direct connectivity, or we can go with the extractor-based.

But when it comes to SAP or DNS integration and all, the installation of RSC modules, all these come in. So, it is a bit time-consuming if it's not a direct connection.

For me, it took three weeks for the connectivity with on-premise SAP. And for ITSM, it took eight days or something. And it also depends on the client's networking and the support we get from them, it all depends on that.

What about the implementation team?

For the implementation strategy, I usually get the tables I go to the table side, look at the unique keys and the relations between the tables, and then I construct the case table.

And then I go with the activities, what would the activities be, reporting, how can we do any transformation? Sometimes, when I was working with the Oracle database, there was a non-unique field term which is not a visible one. Then we converted it to the human-readable monthly date format on the transformation side.

And there's a US daylight saving logic that we worked on to make it more compatible and meaningful. When it comes to the dashboard side and scheduling, it helped with daylight saving.

And then all these installation transformation sites. I go with the data model building, trigger tables, and any simple interaction engine, we work on the table side, activity table, and case table mapping, which is managed to the end.

After all this, I load the data model, then I build the dashboard with the basic process explorer, then I go to the transformations, and they have a meeting with the client. This is how it's going on. Then, we build the KPIs depending on the use case they're looking for.

And also all these things, automation, action flows, action agent performance, root cause analysis, and the violations affecting the process. And then testing, we do a comparison with the source table and what we are getting before it's going to the client.

I needed three or four people for one process.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price is reasonable. It cost around $10,000. But when you're making an investment and considering the data aspect and facing transformations, you gain valuable insights visually. In comparison, I find Celonis to be less expensive than UiPath.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I just want to learn more tools for process mining so that I can have an idea of which tool works and I can understand the limitations of this tool. If you learn too many tools. So, I just want to get a grip on process mining tools.

What other advice do I have?

Celonis is a good tool. From my experience, it offers substantial value.

I would rate the solution a nine out of ten.

A reliable and stable product empowered with artificial intelligence and a responsive support team

  • August 04, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I am learning to use the solution for now.

What is most valuable?

I like that the product allows users to connect to different source systems like SAP, ServiceNow, and Salesforce. I like how the product deals with automation. I like the product’s UI, how the features work, and how they look.

Celonis provides machine learning or artificial intelligence analysis for the root cause of some process inefficiencies. We don't have to identify issues by ourselves. We can just rely on Celonis’ ML or AI features.

What needs improvement?

The tool must have better process graphs. It would be better to have some tool keys with customizable data. It would be better if detailed information about an activity is available when we hover the cursor on the activities. The solution must provide better side-by-side comparisons of different processes like target and current process or as-is and to-be models. I have faced issues on these points while using the product.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for half a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the solution’s stability a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The tool’s scalability is great, and I like how it is done. I rate the scalability an eight out of ten. I have a small team of six people. We are learning and trying to do some test projects or pilots in the solution. We plan to increase the usage. Our clients want to look at our results. We are thinking about talking to Celonis to purchase some additional licenses. It depends on our projects and pilots. We like Celonis, and we would like to develop in this area.

How are customer service and support?

I've used technical support a couple of times. The team’s response was fast and pretty clear.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used UiPath Process Mining. I have a bit more experience with it than Celonis. However, I like Celonis, and I am trying to learn and make Celonis our main tool for process mining in my team.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was easy. I rate the ease of setup a nine out of ten. The deployment can be done very fast. I didn’t face any issues during the deployment. I used Celonis’ task mining tool. It's something different from process mining. Task mining deployment can take several minutes.

What about the implementation team?

To deploy the tool, we should prepare our data, upload it, and do the analysis. Then, we can share the dashboard we make. We must assign roles to people we want to share the analysis with. It depends on how many people we want to see it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I rate the pricing a five out of ten. The product is pretty expensive but reasonable.

What other advice do I have?

People who want to use the solution should watch a lot of videos that Celonis provides in its academy. They must find some understandable project to understand process mining and how to work with it. They must try as many vendors as they can to compare and find the best solution.

We should find the tools that are best for our current task or our current project. We should not be rigid about using only Celonis or only UiPath. Overall, I rate the product a nine out of ten.

Excellent customer support and unique features helped us list purchases and find materials

  • August 01, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use the full process to list purchases for materials, as well as accounts receivable and accounts payable.

How has it helped my organization?

Celonis helped me with its credit management app and credit customers. The solution lists customers over order, and helps us find customers over credit. The solution also helps with price analytics and to find any material from one vendor.

Colleagues don’t use clear invoices in SAP, so we use all of them in Excel files and import them in SAP, but Celonis helped us to improve this process. After using Celonis, they should record a clear invoice for each financial document, And after that, I can monitor customer behavior.

What is most valuable?

Celonis’ Process Cockpit is valuable.

What needs improvement?

I prefer to see S/4HANA in the marketplace. With Celonis it’s a CU app for HANA, but it's for ECC for all of them. Using the other apps and connections is limited for us. For example, we need inventory management, and we use the S/4HANA, but we don’t have any application and connection for this process in the marketplace. This is a gap for my business.

For how long have I used the solution?

I’ve worked with Celonis for about one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We had a bad connection with SAP for two or three days. After we upgraded to SAP 2022, we have probably had a problem connecting Celonis and SAP. And now the stability is not good. We consulted technical support about this problem and I’m waiting for answers. I rate Celonis’ stability a six or seven out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

My company has 36 users on Celonis.

How are customer service and support?

I’ve contacted Celonis’ customer support once and it was a good experience.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

I rate the initial setup for Celonis an eight out of ten because it is easy. Also, everyone monitors updates. Celonis had an update for connection, extraction and data models, Celonis became much easier to use.

We need one day to install the connection and extract and one day to install any apps. We need six people to deploy the solution, with two analysts, two admins, two people from the IT team and two people working with the network.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price is high for us. I rate the pricing a ten out of ten.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I’ve tested Process Diamond and a local software in my country.

What other advice do I have?

When I see another person who works in a similar company, I recommend Celonis. But the price is too high for our country and is a problem for us. I rate Celonis an eight out of ten.

A highly stable and easy-to-deploy solution that provides excellent features and customer support

  • July 27, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

The product is used for the core business processes like accounts payable, accounts receivable, and order management.

What is most valuable?

Celonis Studio was introduced recently. Earlier, Celonis was case-centric. It worked on a case level. Now, it groups object-centric things. Action Flows are good. Most of the features in Studio are valuable to us. The solution has many features.

What needs improvement?

With every upgrade, the product is completely changed. When we work on technological tools, improvements will be made. However, the product should be similar to its previous version even after upgrades. With Celonis, the product and its features are completely changed after upgrades. The new features launched are unrelated to the previous version's features. A person experienced with last year's version cannot use the features introduced in the latest version.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with the solution for almost four to five years. I am working with the latest version of the solution.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The tool’s stability is good. There are no issues. I rate the stability a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the scalability of the tool an eight out of ten. Nearly 100 people in my organization are using the product. My clients are enterprise businesses.

How are customer service and support?

Earlier, the technical support was the worst. Now, it has improved.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

I rate the ease of setup an eight out of ten. The solution is deployed on the cloud mostly. The product can be deployed within eight to ten weeks if the process is less complex. A complex process with more use cases would take more time.

What about the implementation team?

To deploy the solution, we need to understand the customer’s database environment and make a real-time connection. It is the most challenging part of the process. Customers don't allow us to connect to their databases. We must explain to them how we maintain their privacy and store their data. Once the connection is made, we just follow the normal procedures.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution’s pricing is high when compared to other process mining tools. I rate the pricing a seven out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

People looking to use the solution should understand the basics and how Celonis works at the architecture level. Many users get trained and come to the job directly without understanding how the architecture works. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
