Snowflake
What do you like best about the product?
We use snowflake almost daily on my team. It's definitely my go to warehouse when deciding where to store and analyze data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the UI is difficult for non tech stakeholders to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use snowflake to store data and then compute aggregations and analyses we are interested in.
Good for handling large datasets and helpful in areas like data
What is our primary use case?
Our company uses the solution for building a data platform, data warehouse, and data transformation.
The product is somewhat used for data analytics, but it is mostly for data engineering.
What is most valuable?
The tool is good for handling large datasets, and since the tool is fully managed by Snowflake, you can scale up the compute part.
What needs improvement?
I don't think that the AI tools in Snowflake are good. AI tools in Snowflake can be improved. Even if the AI tools in Snowflake are good, I feel that it would be expensive. The cost of the AI part does not justify what you get from the product.
The price of the product can be lowered.
I think Snowflake should integrate with some tools like ChatGPT.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Snowflake for a year.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The product is scalable and can be considered a good fit for small and medium businesses.
How are customer service and support?
I haven't directly contacted the technical support team of the product.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory. My company decided to use Snowflake since we wanted to be able to get up and running fast without much configuration-related mess. Snowflake doesn't give you the options with the configuration part since, by default, it is available out of the box. In terms of machine learning, Azure Databricks has the upper hand over other products.
How was the initial setup?
The product's deployment phase was quite okay.
The solution can be deployed in a few days or up to a week.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The product's price range falls between average to a bit expensive range. I think the tool is worth the money if you use it properly. It is difficult for me to speak about the number of users who use the product. My company pays around a couple of thousand dollars a month to 10,000 dollars or more.
What other advice do I have?
I think the main benefit is that with the tool, you can easily get things going without problems since you don't need to configure all the parameters manually. If you buy the tool for a bigger computing purpose, the engineer can pay more attention to the tool, and I guess after that, you can do more with the solution. I would ask others not to think about the data warehouses, as Snowflake takes care of such areas.
The benefits from the use of the product can be realized in around 40 minutes. It is a good technology for getting up and running quickly.
Snowflake is integrated with Azure Data Platform and other ETL tools in our company's ecosystem.
The integration capabilities of the product are good and you get what you pay for when it comes to Snowflake.
I rate the tool a seven to eight out of ten.
Users can pay as they use and not worry about the maintenance of the data warehouse
What is our primary use case?
The solution has use cases related to retail stores and sales.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable features of Snowflake are that you have to pay per usage, and you don't have to worry about the maintenance of the data warehouse because it is on the cloud.
What needs improvement?
The solution’s pricing could be cheaper. It would be helpful if Snowflake could create good reports instead of using Power BI reports.
For how long have I used the solution?
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I rate the solution a nine out of ten for stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Snowflake is a scalable solution. We have four to five customers for Snowflake who use it regularly.
How was the initial setup?
The solution’s initial setup is straightforward.
What about the implementation team?
The solution's deployment in a development environment takes only a couple of minutes.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Users have to pay a licensing fee for the solution, which is expensive.
What other advice do I have?
Snowflake is deployed on the cloud. The solution is providing HIPAA compliance, which is sufficient. Users looking for a pay-as-you-use product available on Azure or AWS should consider Snowflake.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
Efficient but Costly
What do you like best about the product?
In time critical applications where speed is the main focus, Snowflake performs well
What do you dislike about the product?
It costs a lot! Our teams main budget goes into paying Snowflake alone
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it as a warehouse to store customers data and integrate with our in-house analytics platform for building reports and charts on top of the data available
My first project experience with Snowflake
What do you like best about the product?
Snowflake unique SQL query syntex is the best feature. It is very easy to use unique SQL syntex with Regular SQL syntex.
What do you dislike about the product?
i feel liilte more improvement needed in the ML part. Need to add more capabilities with snowpark for the users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it's unique SQL syntex hep me to optimise the complex query. Because of this save lot of time and cost price in the processing of data from data warehouse.
Navigating through application
What do you like best about the product?
One of the most impressive aspects of snowflake is its user-friendly interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing structure, with its various components like storage, compute and data transfer leading to unexpected costs if not monitored closely
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its architecture allows for seamless scaling of compute and storage resources
A good data warehousing tool for data engineer and data analyst
What do you like best about the product?
One of the thing which I like about Snowflake is that we can create folders and store multiple worksheets within that folder. We can also share the access of these folder to other snowflake users. As a Data Analyst I use snowflake on a daily basis as our Data Warehouse is on snowflake.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing which I dislike about Snowflake is that it only shows 10K rows when we query any data. Also we can only create a single chart from the results of our query, if we want to create multiple charts using the same results set then it is not possible. We cannot use filters in the charts which is a huge problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Snowflake is solving the problem of storing the Big Data. We can create Data Warehouse in it that can have multiple databases as per our requirement. It can easily be integrated with DBT(Data Build Tool). As a data analyst it is helping me to query through the different databases within my organization. With the help of different access permisssion we can query different warehouses as well.
I still prefer the classic console, but this is still great
What do you like best about the product?
Snowflake has the ability to run customer queries against all the data we have, as a data warehouse it does well. I feel like it runs faster than most others and seems easier to collaborate on with coworkers. It is also fairly secure, and itegrates into Okta well.
It is easy to implement or scale and since it's all Cloud based there is nothing preventing it being used by anyone with the interest. I am also impressed by the responsiveness of the few times I've worked with their Customer Support (which is huge) . We use it all the time.
The newer UI is also more sleek and has some fairly helpful prompts to assist with the folks who are not very proficient yet with SQL.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't quite explain it but i prefer the classic console though. Though it has fewer guideraisl for a begginer SQL person lik myself, the classic console is easier to keep the most used queries right in the front. The new console favors collaboration more which is great but I am strange in that i want to work on my own.
The cost can be high if data use is very high as i understand it, though i'm not in a role that deals with that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a lot of data and many different permutations that the data could be useful . Being skilled with Snowflake is really the only way to be able to gather the data from every source and combine it as you may need.
nice tool for querying large data, good integration with 3rd parry tools
What do you like best about the product?
Nice place to gather and query org data in effient way
What do you dislike about the product?
very basic dashboards, basic workspace environment for writing queries and debugging complex queries
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
conclidating large amount of data from org IT systems and production
Snowflake
What do you like best about the product?
In Which we got all stuffs at one place to work from End to End things Data and Analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
Contains various tabes to tabes which sometimes makes me in confusion
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To get the Data at one place and solve problems of doing Dashboarding, Analytics and now a days Machine Learning Capabilities as well in it.
