Great way to organize complex databases and return information for large enterprises
What do you like best about the product?
No frills here. Input SQL and get outputs. Easy control of who from the org gets access to what certain databases.
What do you dislike about the product?
Using Snowflake requires some degree of technical expertise that not all members of a business may possess. Best for folks in at data organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can control what readouts are seen by certain parts of the business. Prevent complicating matters for teams who do not need access and grant permissions to those who do need to see.
Snowflake is recommended, but it doesn't come cheap.

Ease of administration and robust uptime.

Cost is quite high compared to competitors.

Snowflake is not supporting unstructured data right now

We have data warehouse which migrated from hadoop to snowflake.very scalable appliance with awesome performance. Very easy to use and not much of admistration work

Socializing the data across enterprise without having multiple infrastructure and manpower within the same organization thereby optimizing the cost of ownership of data being acquired

What do you dislike about the product?
- No support for local development testing, hard to implement unit tests to validate application functionality that integrates with snowflake
- Switching warehouses is confusing
- SQL editor should support auto-complete and highlight features
- Compilation times for complex queries are high; analysts need to have some basic idea of partitioning data.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Snowflake as our data warehouse. Data is loaded to snowflake as part of scheduled ETL process. Data Analysts connect to snowflake using BI tool (Looker) for anlysis and building reports.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing i like about the snowflake is its supports both share disk and share nothing architecture.it is a centralised based storing cloud database and its support all the new cloud services like AWS,Azure,GCP.

Its not cost effective as it is charge the money for the duration that a warehouse is on and how much time you use the warehouse for analysis or any purpose.
So its not good for taking snowflakes clouds storage for a small projects.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Best benefits of snowflakes I would say the caching part.in snowflakes it provides two levle of caching one is the Result caching and another is the meta data caching. Due to this caching its avoid the unwanted use of any warehouse.

What do you like best about the product?
Snowflake has a very clean UI, and it is simple to use. After about a week of playing around, I understood how most of the functionality worked in the tool which saved me so much time.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest issue I ran into so far is that Snowflake doesn't have the capabilty to automatically refresh data in a maternalized view, so the table I created can't be refreshed unless it is a manual process or set up outside of Snowflake.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We now have a warehouse that centralizes all of our data, which we never had before. This is great for security reasons, as we all as organization.

What do you like best about the product?
Snowflake is reliable, and pretty fast for most workloads. The best feature is you can save some money by using only the amount of computer that is needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally Snowflake takes a poor query optimization path. This is not unique to Snowflake though.

Data analtics, dashboards, training ML and evaluating ML quality.

What do you like best about the product?
With snowflakes there's always encryption-on with data in rest and days in transit. It is one of the best platforms to ensure data security while aiding unification of data from data warehouses and data lakes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Higher costs when compared to its competitors. Also, the performance optimization alerts and notifications are way lesser compared to other cloud data warehouses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our data team uses snowflake platform for offloading ETL. We are using it to store unstructed data. Snowflake offers high speed querying which is the best advantage of the platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go with it because it is far better than the other in-built warehousing services the cloud providers offer.
