Great operating system!
What do you like best about the product?
Due to its customizability, his OS has allowed my team to easily control and manipulate our workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a slight learning curve for this OS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu Server works on very low powered devices which allows us to spend less time and money configuring existing services. We have also used the customizability of Ubuntu to our advantage by writing custom scripts and programs to help us with our workflow.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend a lot of time learning the ins and outs of the program.
Great OS for Development
What do you like best about the product?
I love Ubuntu. Ubuntu is easy to setup and easy to use. No experience with the command line? No, problem. Ubuntu Desktop makes it easy to use like you were using a Mac Desktop or Windows Desktop. If you are using Ubuntu as your server OS, you will obviously need to learn the command line. This is easy as there are plenty of resources online for learning it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all software companies put out support for Linux distributions like Ubuntu. This means that some software won't work on it. The big players like Microsoft and Google generally try to make distributions for Linux, but sometimes they don't. While this hasn't been a problem for me, it is good to check that if you have other software needs to make sure that there are Linux Compatible distributions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Ubuntu for my development machine. It is nice because OSx (which is popular for developers) and Linux are both UNIX based so working with other developers is just that much easier. We also use Ubuntu as our Server technology. This is nice because it is so popular that finding help online for issues is quite easy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ubuntu is great, however, I will note that on support, if you don't want to pay, you will need to put in the effort to learn the command line, because almost all information on the internet assumes that you know it. If that doesn't bother you then go for it. I've never regretted it.
Ubuntu : open source is awesome
What do you like best about the product?
Just install the things that you require which in terms increases the efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dangerous commands, which can wipe the entire computer. Don't fool around if you are a beginner.
Lack of some graphics software force me to switch to windows to complete my work.
Lack of some graphics software force me to switch to windows to complete my work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I mostly use it to organize and deploy my codes for the software. Use it for network testing and version control.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just go for it. Initially, it might seem tough but once you get used to it there is no going back.
Stick to it for just once and you'll be loving it. And as a bonus, it's less prone to virus :P.

Ubuntu has always been an easy favorite to use.
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is a very good operating system to use. You do not need to be an expert to install Ubuntu and once installed, it works better than even Windows!
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I can say that I dislike about Ubuntu.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is much cheaper to use Ubuntu for servers, than with Windows. We have saved hundreds, if not thousands by using Ubuntu Anyone that has not used this OS will be surprized at how fast, easy and cheap it is to implement.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Save the headache of using WIndows or Mac. If you use an OS for personal or work, this OS is right for you.
A Full Fledged Server at No Cost (...or for a few bucks).
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is perhaps the most well-raised child of all Linux distros family which has been around for more than a decade as one of the most easy and at the same time stable desktop operating systems available now. It's LTS (long term support) versions are definitely a pick for fast setup of any on-premise server, stable and versatile.
What do you dislike about the product?
If one could point a disadivantage in Ubuntu I think it's how a little heavy on hardware resources it may be when compared to other non-desktop distros.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu is a perfect fit for fast setup of any kind of local network server one could need. It can perform well in small networks as firewall, name server, directory, database among dozens of roles.

What do you dislike about the product?
Microsoft's ecosystem only grudgingly works with it, which is annoying, but Google's ecosystem works great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's hands-down the best OS for web development, as well as my personal favorite for servers. It has drastically reduced the amount of time I have to spend getting new dev systems configured for development, and has provided years of uninterrupted uptime for servers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend looking around at all Ubuntu can do out-of-the-box, it's impressive. You should consider trying out Evolution for email if you like Outlook, otherwise Thunderbird does a fairly good job.
Also, while it's not required, I recommend getting to know the command line, once you get used to what it can do you'll never want to go back to a system without it :)

The Ubuntu Logo appears corrupted or just looks odd while booting. When GRUB runs, the boot sector part of your hard disk contains information about which OS you can boot. This sector sometimes gets corrupted due to a system crash or power loss and your computer won't boot

I wish it has a converter for file format to work with Windows. I wish it has an application library to work with Windows.
