Easy to use, complete linux experiences.
What do you like best about the product?
The unity interface that simple and easy to use, the complete linux experience based on Debian platform, and long term support from canonical.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unity interface is performance taxing, there's a lot of privacy issues going on with the latest ubuntu release by bundling some ads like Amazon search.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If the business are running linux in general, Ubuntu could be the gateway for some new users that isn't familiar with linux ecosystem.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the multiple flavor of Ubuntu distros before deciding on which to implement., there's a lot to choose from the basic flavor to ultra lightweight one such as Lubuntu.
Best Linux, period
What do you like best about the product?
It's free and open sourced. It's also a lot more well (intuitively) designed than the other Linux distros
What do you dislike about the product?
Still a long way behind Windows when it comes to user friendliness
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heavy user of Ubuntu Server, for web applications
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's the most polished Linux distro. And it also comes in many flavors, light, server, etc. to suit your needs
A server OS with a little "human" in it
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that Ubuntu has become the de-facto standard for all kinds of documentations means the community support is fantastic.
There are also a huge library of well maintained PPA repositories that help you set up any kind of system.
There are also a huge library of well maintained PPA repositories that help you set up any kind of system.
What do you dislike about the product?
The bundled commercial tools and software by Canonical can be at times annoying and hard to remove.
There have also been some major bugs in things like GRUB etc that are unacceptable for enterprise level usage.
There have also been some major bugs in things like GRUB etc that are unacceptable for enterprise level usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting a stable and reliable operating system where we don't need to manually compile anything.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try out the different forums and searching for Ubuntu specific tutorials and instructions. You'll realize how huge the community really is.
Linux has come a long way
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, attractive UI, very user friendly experience. You don't have to be a tech saavy to use a Linux distro anymore. This is as close as Windows and Mac as you can get for free.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unity. I like my old school task bar at the bottom of the screen and windows with borders and fixed action bars. Unity forces you to a Mac like experience which I, after 2 years of use, still don't feel comfortable with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Ubuntu to code.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the jump, it´s a really good alternative to Windows and Mac. Unity is a little bit obnoxious, if you´re a Mac user you´ll get used to it fast.
Ubuntu server is great
What do you like best about the product?
Speed, long term support, online guides from other users showing how to do some stuff.
Overall stability
Overall stability
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't auto cleans the installed kernels, so you may end with no disk space just to discover 10 kernel images filling all the disk
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
General Linux Servers used in virtualized environments (both Xen and VMWare)
Personal and professional use
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Ubuntu since the first versions and it has become a stable and easy to use Linux distribution. The applications can be easily installed via repositories and you don't have to deal compiling you own applications (but you can do it if you want).
What do you dislike about the product?
This operative system has become more stable with every version, but there has been always problems updating from a version to another. This problems don't happen as much as in earlier versions but even with that, for professional use it is very recommended to use the LTS versions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You have a free operative system, very use to install and use and compatible with a big amount of software.
You know you ubuntu
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Windows like Ubuntu is while still sticking to its linux roots - it's the perfect entryway into Linux for a Windows user. As someone who finally gets how powerful UNIX commands are as well as the demands for UNIX in enterprise settings, I like that they tried to make things easy to find and tamed down the no frill Linux experience into something that has pretty graphics, icons and a cool looking GUI to boot.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having to manually install updates like the latest proprietary graphics drivers to get GPU applications to load faster. Linux in general isn't great for gaming either, but that's a minor flaw to be fixed with a decent emulator.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not having to pay for Windows licenses. Speed for loading Linux servers versus Windows.
The easier linux
What do you like best about the product?
It's now much easier to install and configure Linux
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing for now.
I don't see for the moment.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Ubuntu for GLPI Server
Great solution for the desktop and server user alike
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is the most user friendly Linux platform that I have used. It really is geared toward the novice or new to Linux user but does not placate the advanced user either.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not a huge fan of the Debian based distributions but this is more of a religious conversation than anything wrong with Ubuntu. The platform is really without complaint.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This provides a Linux based platform that is free to use but has a very large community to seek assistance in. This has helped save dollars in doing deployments of desktops for users.
Ubuntu Review
What do you like best about the product?
Free desktop replacement that can be used on many different types of hardware. I use an HDMI based Intel Stick.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little esoteric for the casual person. Definetly a gateway to Linux. It has come leaps and bounds over its earlier versions but the installs are not as clean as a windows or MAC environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None
