Stability, Security, easy use
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is easy to use, to install, the ultimate drivers., Easy to configure. if you want to start in linux. Ubuntu is the distribution to you. Excellent to use in desktop and servers, you can configure Ubuntu like a layer 3 switch (using open-vswitch), like router, firewall.. whatever you can imagine
What do you dislike about the product?
You must use. the latest gnome version by default. Is better to use a desktop light version. you should be able to choose between a minimalist and advance desktop environment. But in this case.. by default you start in default gnome, if you hace a old pc, maybe you need more resouce to use the last ubuntu version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to solve my licensing problem. Saving a lot thanks to this. We can developer solutions to our company free of cost. highly scalable, and secure. If you need a OS to your servers, Ubuntu is the one. You can configure any network services, firewall, proxy, dhcp, dns.. all you need
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a OS, Secure and stable, Ubuntu is the best choice
It works well without any surprises
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu Server's dpkg/apt package management system is faster than competing solutions (e.g. rpm in CentOS, RHEL).
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much I don't like about Ubuntu Server. Ubuntu Desktop's Amazon affiliation (and possible telemetry?) is a concern.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I run Ubuntu Server on several servers and it works well. In particular, the integrated LXD environment for provisioning and managing containers is fantastic when you need a container to be more of a "lightweight VM" than a single-application Docker container.
Great operating system.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that It comes with software like LibreOffice and Firefox already installed. I also like the fact that there is a place with compatible software you can download built into the system. It has more GUI instead of CLI installs. It can Be installed on a flash drive and run a computer from it without affecting the computer OS.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not Like that it is more difficult to play windows games, though it can be done using some of the built-in applications with some setup
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use a portable version to repair computers booting into a live USB.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you do not use Linux based OS then now is probably the time to begin
Used for a multitude of things
What do you like best about the product?
It's versatiliy and customizability. I use it not only as an operating system but also to boot to when a computer needs a little system help.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although open source stuff is free, it's quality can be lacking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Back end computer repair, a sort of safe mode but with mode features.
ubuntu is one of the best linux os
What do you like best about the product?
ubuntu has a very nice interface and is one of the best easy and gui friendly linux os
What do you dislike about the product?
coming from an windows environment the availability of gui for different operations is a little bad
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we work on solving problems that are open source and which requires linux servers
Ubuntu for schools
What do you like best about the product?
Super stable and reliable, once setup it is set it and forget it. Free, can't beat that.
What do you dislike about the product?
steep learning curve. Some tutorials online, but commands and command lines take a while to get used to. Now they have a much better gui, but still need to use commands to install most software
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use ubuntu for all our video servers (unifi), as well as our wifi controller (unifi).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
plenty of self help articles and videos available. Start small but once you have it working you will be hooked.
Ubuntu - great debian distro
What do you like best about the product?
I have used ubuntu for the past 8 years now and I love it. It is completely free and have lots of support from the community either in helping to troubleshoot issues or to install new applications or plugins. Also if you use the LTS version of ubuntu, it can pass any audit, especially PCI (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). Also another thing I like is that there are new application like openstack, maas, etc being added to ubuntu after every release. Another addendum that I love is landscape which gives me the ability to centrally manage resources and fix vulnerabilities. I will continue to use ubuntu in the future and will recommend it to others.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really have anything that I dislike about ubuntu.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu is the OS of choice for our applications and databases. It is the OS we are choice to pass our audits.
Excellent as desktop or server operating system
What do you like best about the product?
I have used ubuntu for a long time, I like it to be an operating system in continuous evolution and improvement, it has come very close to users who do not belong to the field of information technology which has allowed many people to use it that I like. The user interface has improved a lot as time goes by it's very nice and it's nice to use the operating system. Another point in your favor is the package manager, it is very easy to install an application from the repositories already configured or add a new repository and install from there. I love its stability in server mode, a feature inherited from Debian, good processor and memory management, services are practically never interrupted by any operating system failure, this is essential for me. Another point in their favor is trust and is the community's support you know that when installing an application is something that has guaranteed functionality, many users have already tried it and you can rest easy in that regard. There are no licenses this makes you want to install it whenever possible and finally free of computer viruses, I am calm that is not exposed to many vulnerabilities of other operating systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The constant updates of the operating system make it difficult to keep the production servers up to date. This has been a disadvantage for me. Since Gnome changed to Unity as a default desktop environment, I had to do an extra job when installing it on computers with low resources this I do not like I think that functionality has been sacrificed for aesthetics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my work I have been able to install several web servers and also database which has allowed me to deploy applications that I have programmed with my group without problems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it on is a good operating system where you can do from office work to robust web services, in general it is a good experience. Be careful when installing on low-resource computers.
Ubuntu a stable Linux distribution
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is extremely stable and has a very good interface. The more happy news it is free to use and It also has many free applications.
It does not require any kind of antivirus which is very important these days to make your computer secure. Performance of Ubuntu is also very good in comparison with windows. The best thing it is free and you don't need to worry about the license cost when buying any new system.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only issue we faced was with office documents. Libre office works well with documents created in it but when people share documents made in Microsoft office latest versions it creates different annoying issues like formatting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In our organization we started shifting from Windows and selected Ubuntu which didn't make much difference for users. The main concern was the alternative to Microsoft office which Libre office served very well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Such a good OS for free. Why not to try?
great for replacing windows if you know what you are doing
What do you like best about the product?
I like the customization, the streamlined functions, and the ease of set-up
What do you dislike about the product?
lack of support from programs like Microsoft office.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
my desktop is on the older side, and I need to have a responsive desktop. Using Ubuntu helped speed up the desktop
Recommendations to others considering the product:
depends on what you want to do, and what industry your work is in. I think it's better than Windows or Mac, but it's not as user friendly, and people don't typically like googling things or relying on tech support if there's an issue.
