What do you like best about the product?
What I like the best about Data Mover is the fast and simple data movement speed: it moves or copies data from one system to another.
Like its flexibility and power: it allows the automation, control and supervision of processes.
And above all, it is easy to use: it provides a point-and-click user interface to enable commands.

What do you dislike about the product?
What I disliked about Data Mover is the need to implement Data Mover following a hosting company like AWS or Azure by Microsoft. Also the price is not for a staring or little companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You can save a lot of time using Teradata Data Mover to perform periodic tasks, including loading data from a data store dependent on Enterprise Data Warehouse, as well as special single-use tasks, such as moving data to a test system.
Simply specify what you want to copy and select the fastest protocol under the covers, even if it changes over time.

What do you dislike about the product?
- Pricing ( Quite Expensive )
- When we started with Intellicloud, the support was just with selected US based AWS regions, now it is getting expanded globally.

Moving to cloud is always tricky and challenging. But with the help of Intellicloud support team, the move was easy, it helped to manage our overall costs in a big way.

Can store trillions of data. Well defined amp structure to accomodate n number of users.

Expensive compared to the open source dbs available.

Required no indexing mostly and ease of use.can handle trillions of data sets. Performance is good.

Excellent MPP-Teradata
We have spin up 6 node enterprise machine using cloud formation template for POC, Up and running in less than 30 minutes and once the security group is updated for port 1025 then we are all set to go, Excellent performance , Works as onsite database after updating TCP settings.
Challenge is with documentation on adding amazon to tays website for support, We need twice the space as fall back is enabled by default, Block level compression is enabled , This is needed to reduce io on database
Over all this is quick and easy for POC or DR system, For long term or replacing onsite solution we need to use ICAWS services.

Ease of using this tool is the best thing.

The only thing that I disliked was the hierarchy to be followed to even view a single column.

The scalability and ability to resolve complex database queries with no impact on performance are the best features

The UI of this tool can be improved a bit and even the admin console of this tool can have a better user interface

Interface is outdated and needs expertise to best create tables so as to not 'skew' database

It's well suited to large organisations where multiple departments across large geographical regions need to access one centralised repository. It's not so well suited to small-medium sized organisations where databases are not so larg

What do you like best about the product?
Teradata is a solid performance DB and it's easy to fetch and append the data in the DB. Addition of rows of data and importing from data sources is easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost of implementation can be higher at time as compared to other DBs in the market.

Teradata have designed a DW database for fast loading of huge data volumes and fast SQL querying.

It is not suitable for small transaction OLTP databases.
