On first launch, the stack starts automatically and the customer is guided to the LibreNMS installer in the browser to create their own admin account. LibreNMS is a fully featured network monitoring platform that supports automatic discovery, alerting, distributed polling, performance monitoring, SNMP based device visibility, syslog handling, and broad device support across network and server environments. This build is designed for teams that want a quicker path to evaluating or operating LibreNMS on AWS without performing a full manual installation. Every instance runs the same software, so your cost depends only on the compute size you select. The options span several instance families: general-purpose (t2, t3, t3a, m5n), compute-optimized (c5), memory-optimized (r5), storage-dense (d3, d3en), and GPU (g5). Within each family, hourly rates rise as you move from smaller sizes (like nano or large) to larger ones (like 24xlarge). Charges stop when you stop the instance.

What does one hourly unit cover for these instance options?
One unit is one running hour of the EC2 instance size you launch. The rate reflects that specific instance type's compute, memory, or GPU resources. You pay for each hour the instance runs the network monitoring image, regardless of how many devices you monitor.
Am I charged when I stop or pause the instance?
The hourly software charge applies only while the instance runs. Stopping the instance stops these charges. Note that stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for their attached volumes, but the software meter counts running time only.
Does choosing a GPU instance like g5 change the software features I get?
No. Every instance type runs the same network monitoring image. Pricing is not tiered by features. Choosing a GPU, memory-optimized, or storage-dense instance changes only the hardware resources and hourly rate, not the software capabilities you receive.
