Step 1:
On AWS MarketPlace, Click Subscribe to get started
Step 2:
Go through AWS options to launch an Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instance using our baked SonarQube™ on AWS image. We recommend the following specifications; you are welcome to try lower, especially if you are testing things out.
t2.medium or
2 VCPUs
4 GB RAM
Step 3:
Once your instance is launched, it will take about 5 minutes to bootstrap for the first time. When ready, you should be able to browse to SonarQube™ web UI located at http://ip.address.of.instance:9000. For example, if your instance is on IP address 1.2.3.4, you should be able to access the web UI by browsing to http://1.2.3.4:9000. The default username is admin, and the password is the ID for your EC2 instance. e.g. i-0123456789

password: EC2 instance ID (e.g. i-0123456789)
Should you need to, SSH is available as well. The credentials for that are;
username: ubuntu
password: use SSH-Key used during EC2 instance provision

What does one hourly unit cover, and what am I actually paying for?
Each hourly unit is one running Amazon EC2 instance of the type you select. The SonarQube Community Edition software is open source and carries no separate license fee. You pay for the compute hours the chosen instance consumes while running.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges meter running time only. A stopped or paused instance stops accruing hourly software charges. You may still pay underlying AWS storage fees for the attached disk while the instance is stopped, but those are separate AWS infrastructure charges.
How does cost change when I move to a larger instance type?
Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance size across general-purpose, memory-optimized, GPU, and bare-metal families. Selecting a size with more compute or memory raises your hourly rate. Cost scales with the instance you pick, not with code-scanning volume itself.
