Hospitality accounting has become more accurate and reporting customizations save significant time
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Sage Intacct is hospitality accounting. I use Sage Intacct for hospitality accounting to control the operations of the condo hotels, deposit layers, city layers, guest layers, and inventories for the restaurants.
I perform regular accounting functions including payroll, credit card reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and customized reports.
What is most valuable?
The best features that Sage Intacct offers are report customizations. Some clients request particular reports that are outside the standard reporting list, so it is great to be able to customize the report to fit the client's necessities.
Sage Intacct has positively impacted my organization because it is great software, very robust, and very easy to use. It has helped me reduce errors and reduce time, especially for invoice processing. Sage Intacct is stable, robust, and very complete.
What needs improvement?
Sage Intacct can be improved by integrating AI and offering more dynamic reports. If artificial intelligence can be integrated, it will be great.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Sage Intacct for about seven years.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support for Sage Intacct is pretty good.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used different software such as M3 Core Accounting , Adfolio, and Restaurant365. I evaluated other options before choosing Sage Intacct, and among those options was M3 Core Accounting .
What was our ROI?
Sage Intacct saves time.
What other advice do I have?
My advice to others looking into using Sage Intacct is that it is a very good investment. Sage Intacct is great software. I would rate this review an eight out of ten.
Monthly financial reporting has become smoother and bank reconciliations are simple and reliable
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Sage Intacct is to record day-to-day transactions and to generate reports, such as financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, AP aging reports, and AR aging reports.
When I use Sage Intacct for generating a report or handling a transaction, such as bank transactions that we download from the bank portal to record, we debit the GL code for the services or items we have purchased and credit the credit card GL accounts.
Regarding my main use case with Sage Intacct, when I prepare financials, we work on monthly financials, so every time we generate reports for income statements and balance sheets, we use it on a monthly basis.
What is most valuable?
In my opinion, the best features Sage Intacct offers are that bank reconciliation is very simple, and the drafting and posting functionality is excellent.
For the bank reconciliation feature, it is simple because when we perform a bank reconciliation, we enter the reconciliation date, such as the end-of-month bank balance, and we simply match transactions with our bank statement, making it easier to reconcile those transactions in a single place.
Sage Intacct has impacted my organization positively as it improves on a regular basis whenever I find glitches. When we prepare financials, we also use Vellixo for Sage Intacct, which makes it challenging to attach every single statement on each transaction.
What needs improvement?
Sage Intacct can be improved, especially when we perform any bank drafting. For each transaction, we have to particularly go to that transaction to attach support documents. If Sage Intacct can improve in this attachment area with the help of Vellixo, it would better save us time.
Regarding Sage Intacct's stability, I am not particularly concerned about the reliability, but if the team can work on cloud performance, it would be better. Sage Intacct occasionally experiences lag while we are working online.
If we can sync our bandwidth with Sage Intacct, it can automatically download the transactions, which would make it easier for us to draft and post from Sage Intacct, ultimately saving us more time.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working in my current field for more than two and a half years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Regarding Sage Intacct's stability, I am not particularly concerned about the reliability, but if the team can work on cloud performance, it would be better. Sage Intacct occasionally experiences lag while we are working online.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Sage Intacct's scalability is good as it handles our growing needs easily since we use it for our daily operations.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Before Sage Intacct, I used Tally ERPÂ software.
What other advice do I have?
My advice to others looking into using Sage Intacct is that it is better software for you, as it can offer lower costs compared to other accounting software.
Sage Intacct has made things easier for our team, but I do not particularly analyze these things because we have all been using Sage Intacct from the very beginning.
I would rate my overall experience with Sage Intacct an eight out of ten.
Automated inter-company entries and fixed assets have transformed and streamline daily accounting
What is our primary use case?
I have been using Sage Intacct for five years. I implemented it at three organizations. After go-live, I use Sage Intacct for day-to-day accounting needs. We use it for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and recording journal entries. We use it for everything as our main finance software.
What is most valuable?
Sage Intacct automatically completes inter-company entries, which is extremely useful. Prior to using Sage Intacct, we had to do a lot of manual inter-company reconciliation, so this saves me a lot of time. The best features Sage Intacct offers are automated inter-company reconciliation and the fixed asset module, which is extremely useful as well.
The fixed asset module helps me in my daily work by automating the depreciation process so that it requires less manual work for me and my team. Sage Intacct has positively impacted my organization by streamlining processes such as inter-company reconciliation, making things much faster.
What needs improvement?
Sage Intacct is already very great. If Sage Intacct had automated accounts payable similar to bill.com, that would be helpful as well.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working in my current field for 10 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Sage Intacct is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Sage Intacct's scalability is awesome. They are always adding new features.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support for Sage Intacct is great. They are very helpful.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We switched from an old version of Navision because it was not suiting our needs.
How was the initial setup?
If you have multiple entities and you are currently doing manual inter-company reconciliation, do not hesitate. Get Sage Intacct.
What about the implementation team?
My supervisor handled my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing.
What was our ROI?
I estimate that we save at least eight hours a month because of those streamlined processes. I have seen a return on investment in terms of time saved.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing Sage Intacct, I did not evaluate other options.
What other advice do I have?
My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer. I rate this product a 9.
Advanced consolidations have provided clear audit-ready reporting and ongoing automation for month-end and forecasting
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Sage Intacct includes advanced consolidations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, user management, company administration, reporting, and fixed assets.
For advanced consolidations, we consolidate our books for 28 consolidating entities at month-end; these entities monitor subsidiary income impact, from which we utilize to draft reporting for key stakeholders and help with budgeting and forecasting for our FP&A teams.
What is most valuable?
The best features Sage Intacct offers include a strong audit trail and compliance measures for SOC 2 requirements, along with a strong marketplace platform for vendors to integrate with Sage Intacct, which can be a viable option as long as you have a good understanding of what you want.
Sage Intacct has positively impacted my organization by bringing clarity with reporting, providing opportunities for internal automation.
From that clarity and reporting, Sage Intacct has definitely given us the opportunity to integrate with Flowcast, a great marketplace vendor for Sage Intacct users, which helps us continue to build upon efficiencies within month-end.
What needs improvement?
Sage Intacct can be improved because it is not always intuitive; there is a lot of money that goes into customization and reworking, and when they pilot new enhancements, they have an early adopter promo that can come with bugs. I think being more cost-efficient with the subscription packages would be the best improvement.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Sage Intacct for four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Sage Intacct is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Sage Intacct's scalability is pretty decent because there are a lot of opportunities for integration packages if you have a strong internal engineering team, and they continue to add new releases every quarter with new features and enhancements, making the scalability pretty safe.
How are customer service and support?
The initial customer support when calling in is pretty generic, and while they capture what you need, the true help comes from their knowledgeable technical teams after forwarding tickets for assistance.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
How was the initial setup?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is minimal.
What about the implementation team?
Now that we have become more familiar with the product and have poured a lot of investment with a consulting firm at Aqua, the return on investment is kind of early to assess, but we are definitely in the phase of still learning.
What was our ROI?
Now that we have become more familiar with the product and have poured a lot of investment with a consulting firm at Aqua, the return on investment is kind of early to assess, but we are definitely in the phase of still learning.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is minimal.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I was not part of evaluating other options, but I believe they considered NetSuite and Oracle.
What other advice do I have?
My advice for others looking into using Sage Intacct is to have a strong internal engineering team to partner with and to be prepared for your budget around the general ledger to expand as you encounter improvements or bug fixes, along with maintaining a positive mindset to help you push through any circumstances.
I would rate Sage Intacct an eight out of ten because I really enjoy the product overall, and while I am aware of the high budget customizations that can happen with the subscription packages, I do find the product enjoyable and recognize there is always room for improvement, which is why it is not a perfect score, but it reflects my confidence based on my familiarity with it.
Improved reporting and dashboard customization has streamlined mid-size accounting while manual tasks and UI could be refined
What is our primary use case?
In my previous organization, we used Sage Intacct majorly for not-for-profit organizations, and apart from that, we used to perform grant accounting to maintain the AP, AR, accounting, financials, and other accounting-related functions. We also used it for the financial and budgeting modules. We performed implementation works, dashboard creation, dashboard setup, and report creation setup. We used it extensively and appreciated Sage Intacct greatly.
A specific example of how we used Sage Intacct for grant accounting involved a large NGO firm or not-for-profit organization that lent its SSN number to another not-for-profit because in the US, there is a significant procedure for obtaining an SSN number or an EIN number for these not-for-profits, and maintaining grant accounting is difficult. This large not-for-profit lent its SSN number and maintained accounting for small entities and small not-for-profits. It was an accounting function of an accounting firm, and that demonstrates how extensively we used it.
What is most valuable?
The main advantage of Sage Intacct is the import modules, which we found very easy because we were handling large sets of data to import. Our work became easier because we could work with Excel files and use macro tools and other capabilities. Although there were a few challenges while using Sage Intacct because not every module was readily available, we were able to accomplish most tasks.
In my opinion, the best features Sage Intacct offers are its importing option and the dashboard option, which are very useful.
What I find most useful about the dashboard option in Sage Intacct is the customization. It might take a while to customize according to your needs, but once it is customized, the dashboard is very helpful, and the reports are also very helpful. The visualization, customization, and ability to get data together in one place are quite useful.
Sage Intacct has positively impacted the organizations we served because we were providing accounting services to our clients who used Sage Intacct. When compared with QuickBooks , I find Sage Intacct, especially in my experience, to be user-friendly. There are a few good features in QuickBooks as well, but my orientation is towards Sage Intacct. It reduced the time in refreshing the data. The data retrieving is fast, data uploading is good, and the user interface and ease of controlling the application are friendly and user-friendly.
What needs improvement?
Sage Intacct needs to improve many modules because not every module is the best, and the importing option is not available for all functions. For example, if I need to pay a bill, I do not have the option of updating multiple or thousands of bills at once; I have to manually mark each bill as paid, which is quite a headache. Additionally, Sage Intacct's customer support needs to be improved significantly because when I want to customize it, I need a better approach. Sage community support and email options are available, but we did not find them friendly to approach or capable of providing quick solutions.
The user interface of Sage Intacct can be more colorful because sometimes it feels outdated, perhaps reminiscent of interfaces from the 2000s or ten to twenty years ago. It could be made more colorful, more exciting, and more engaging. Additionally, a few applications could be added, and in terms of dashboard or reports, sometimes there are too many options that make it complicated to understand, so it could be more precise and readily available.
For how long have I used the solution?
I am not currently using Sage Intacct, but I used it for around two years in my prior organization.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Sage Intacct is not always stable; sometimes it performs well, but when handling a large set of data, it can take time, and occasionally, the website crashes. Therefore, it is not 100% stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
When things get bigger, we do notice a few issues with Sage Intacct; not everything can be automated, nor can everything be uploaded into an Excel version and then transferred to the website. We face issues, and customization becomes difficult when handling large sets of data, so more manual processes are involved. We wish it could be automated better.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support for Sage Intacct is not the best because we are not able to get immediate answers.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online for a few clients, and we felt we could switch to Sage Intacct because it handles large sets of data compared to QuickBooks, and the data gets loaded easily. Compared to QuickBooks Desktop, there is an issue with the server because you have to install a local server to use it. This made it difficult, but Sage, being a web application, made it easier for us to use.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing Sage Intacct, we evaluated other options including QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and NetSuite. However, we did not go with NetSuite because the pricing was a bit on the higher side, and although it is more user-friendly than Sage Intacct, the pricing is still relatively high. For the data we handle and because of our experience with Sage Intacct, we felt Sage is the best.
What other advice do I have?
When using Sage Intacct compared to QuickBooks, I may not have exact data on how much time was saved, but I would say it is much better because in QuickBooks, if I need to open any option, it takes time to load. It is not very fast in handling multiple or large sets of data, but Sage is useful.
My advice to others looking into using Sage Intacct is that if you have a large set of data, or not exactly large but a medium set of data, you should consider Sage Intacct. However, if you are looking for accounting software only for small needs, Sage may not be the right choice for you. Even for large sets of data where you want to link it to operations or inventory or CRMÂ , Sage Intacct is not the right choice for you. But if your company is mid-size and you are heavily concentrated on accounting, Sage might be a better choice.
I think Sage could learn a few things regarding AI or automation, which could really improve Sage Intacct, and I would love to see Sage auto-categorizing bank feeds or maybe auto-reconciling transactions, similar to how QuickBooks does.
I would rate this product a 7 out of 10.
