You pay by the hour for Oracle Linux 8.9 running on the AWS EC2 instance type you choose. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, storage, or accelerator capacity of that instance. Smaller general-purpose instances cost less per hour, while memory-heavy, storage-heavy, GPU, and bare-metal instances cost more. You are not locked into one size. You select an instance to match your workload and add the vendor's software and support cost on top of the underlying AWS compute charge.

What does one hourly unit cover, and what is not included in the price shown?
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the named type, charged per hour. The price covers the Oracle Linux 8.9 software image and Tiov IT support. The underlying AWS compute, storage, and data transfer charges are billed separately by AWS and are not part of this rate.
Am I charged the software fee when my instance is stopped or powered off?
The hourly software fee meters running time only. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue the Tiov IT software charge. Attached AWS storage may still incur AWS fees while the instance is stopped, but those are separate from this listing's per-hour rate.
If I move to a larger instance type, does my software rate change automatically?
Yes. The rate is tied to the specific instance type you run. Switching to a memory-heavy, GPU, or bare-metal type applies that type's higher hourly rate. Moving to a smaller general-purpose type applies its lower rate. The change takes effect when you launch the new instance.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
Info regarding virtual machines
The operating system does not save any sensitive information for the customers. The customer is responsible for saving any information, sensitive or not.
The data saved on the volumes is not encrypted by default.
All instance authentication must use key pair access, not password-based authentication.
AMIs does not contain passwords, authentication keys, key pairs, security keys, or other credentials.
PasswordAuthentication is set to NO in sshd_config.
The application does not make use of any encryption techniques.
