Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing uses a single contract dimension. You buy one deployment to run a URL Shortener stack in your own AWS account. Pricing is a flat fee tied to that one deployment, not to usage. It scales by the number of deployments you set up: one contract covers one stack. After the contract, you deploy the software using a CloudFormation template in your own account. The link data and traffic stay within your infrastructure, so there are no per-request or per-click charges attached to this dimension.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one deployment for billing under this contract?
One deployment covers a single URL Shortener stack in your AWS account. You deploy it using a CloudFormation template in the us-east-1 region. The stack includes the shortener website, API endpoints, and supporting resources. To run more separate stacks, you buy an additional deployment contract for each one.
Does this contract charge per short link created, per click, or per API request?
No. This deployment carries a flat contract fee, not per-request charges. You create and manage short links through the deployed API endpoints, and clicks and traffic flow through your own infrastructure. Because the stack runs in your AWS account, link data and usage stay in-house with no metered software charge.
Are there separate AWS charges beyond the deployment contract fee?
The contract fee covers the software licence. Because the stack runs in your own account, you also pay AWS for the underlying resources it provisions. These include a CloudFront distribution, API Gateway, and Lambda functions. Those cloud infrastructure charges appear on your regular AWS bill, separate from this listing's fee.

Deploy the provided CloudFormation stack in the AWS region us-east-1. Note that the current template does not support other regions. If you need to deploy to a different region, please contact our support team at support@silverlining.cloud.
After deployment, your URL shortener will be available via a CloudFront distribution with a domain similar to this: dyw3woienkdcr.cloudfront.net.
To use your own domain, point your (sub-)domain to the CloudFront distribution. If you want to support HTTPS, you will need to integrate an SSL certificate.
Finally, update the environment variable in the shortener function to specify your custom (sub-)domain.

My main use case for SilverLining.Cloud URL Shortener is working in a development team as a developer, where we have a product that sends out links and messages.
A quick specific example of how I use SilverLining.Cloud URL Shortener in our product is that we have a particular product where we have a background script in Python.
We use the REST API of SilverLining.Cloud URL Shortener to send our actual URL, get it shortened using the REST API, and further send it out to the customers.

What needs improvement?
SilverLining.Cloud URL Shortener can be improved by having more out-of-the-box dashboards and BI integrations that would help non-technical stakeholders consume analytics more easily.
