What does one hour of billing represent for this signing platform?
You pay for each hour the chosen EC2 instance runs. The rate follows the instance type you select, such as t3.medium or m7a.2xlarge. Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates because they provide more compute. Standard Support is included at every size.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or powered off?
Software charges accrue only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance does not meter software hours. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the signing platform license meters running time only.
Does choosing a larger instance add features, or just more capacity?
Larger instances add compute capacity for heavier signing demand, not extra features. The signing capabilities and Standard Support stay the same across sizes. You scale by clustering instances and enabling failover and load balancing for signature requests when throughput needs grow.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
Retrieve Superadmin certificate via keystore URL at http://<ec2-instance-ip>/keystore. You will also be provided with a link to this from the base public IP address webpage. The username will be superadmin and the password will be the password you provided in the wizard in the previous step.
Download superadmin.p12 and import into FireFox under FireFox > Preferences > Privacy and Security > Certificates > View Certificates > Your Certificates > Import. The password to the p12 certificate file will be the Instance-ID. Click administration web link (or navigate to http://<ec2-instance-ip>/signserver/adminweb/) to start using SignServer.
