One unit represents one protected endpoint backed up using Bacula Enterprise, including physical servers, virtual machines, desktops, laptops, containers, or cloud instances.
This listing uses one pricing dimension: an Endpoint Subscription measured in units. Each unit covers one protected endpoint, which can be a physical server, virtual machine, desktop, laptop, container, or cloud instance. You buy units to match the number of endpoints you back up. Pricing scales with endpoint count, not with data volume or storage consumed. As you add endpoints, you add units. Billing runs on an annual subscription term. Every unit includes the same software suite, management console, updates, and technical support, so scaling is a matter of adjusting how many units you purchase.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one endpoint unit for billing?
One unit covers one protected endpoint. That can be a physical server, a virtual machine, a desktop, a laptop, a container, or a cloud instance. Each virtual machine counts as one endpoint, even when several share one physical host. Each container instance counts separately. You buy units to match your endpoint count.
Does my cost rise as my backed-up data volume grows?
No. Pricing scales with the number of protected endpoints, not with data volume or storage consumed. There are no charges for storage space used or terabytes protected. You can protect large data footprints per endpoint without added software cost. Your bill changes only when you add or remove endpoint units.
What software and support does each endpoint unit include?
Every unit includes the same software suite, the web-based management console, and technical support. Future patches, updates, and version changes are also included. Because every unit carries the same package, scaling is simply a matter of buying the number of endpoint units you need.

The most important thing is that the backup successfully saved my data after an attack on my system. The security features are really impressive to me.
The second good thing for me is that the cost is in an acceptable price range with simple pricing, and it’s cheaper than my previous backup solution
It’s helping me with replicating K8s deployment as well as backing up persistent data.
I also like their support team, they are super helpful, understanding and respond really quickly. Plus it works with all my different Linux operating systems.
Easy to write custom scripts. Love this! I also appreciate using the GUI and the command line in parallel.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to have pretty good knowledge of Linux to make best use out of it. I don't think a pure Windows person would be comfortable with it.
Their platform is aiming more into bigger customers with extensive infra and big amounts of data.
Impatient to find out when Salesforce support is available
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Continuous backup, and reducing network bandwidth
Fast recovery after losing data and applications (so far 1 hacker attack and 1 human error ;).
Helping in testing new solutions (in my case K8’s) and other in-Cloud applications
