Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so pricing scales with the instance's compute and memory size. General-purpose M-family instances (m3, m4, m5, and variants like m5d, m5n, m5a, m5ad, m5dn, m5zn) suit steady workloads. Burstable T-family instances (t2, t3, t3a) suit variable workloads. Sizes range from nano and micro up to metal and 24xlarge. Larger instances cost more per hour.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each dimension maps to one running AWS EC2 instance of the named type, billed per hour it runs. The instance type sets your CPU and memory. The Jenkins software is free, so the hourly charge reflects only the compute resources you select for that instance size.
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. A stopped instance stops accruing hourly software charges. You may still pay underlying AWS fees for attached storage, since that persists even when the instance is not running.
You subscribe per instance type, so each dimension bills independently by the hour. To change size, you launch a different instance type and stop the old one. Charges follow whichever instance is running, so switching is manual rather than automatic.

Easy to launch Jenkins website

I was able to access the Jenkins website immediately upon launching the EC2 instance. Logging into the EC2 machine was a little tricky though as I did not know what the username was. Soon, I realized that the username was "ubuntu".
