You pay for WafCharm Lite based on usage, combining several charges. A flat Basic Hourly Usage fee applies for running the service. You also pay per configured Web ACL, billed hourly and pro-rated. On top of that, request volume is charged per 10,000 requests across four tiers. Tier 1 covers 100K-1M requests by default, Tier 2 covers 1M-100M, Tier 3 covers 100M-3B, and Tier 4 covers volume above 3B. As your request count grows, it moves into higher tiers, so charges scale with traffic.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one Web ACL for the configured Web ACL charge?
A configured Web ACL is one WAF configuration unit you register in the WafCharm console. In AWS environments, this maps to an AWS WAF Web ACL. You pay per registered Web ACL, and the charge is pro-rated by the hour based on how long each is active.
How do the request charges combine with the hourly and Web ACL charges on my bill?
All three charge types apply at once on the same invoice. You pay the Basic Hourly Usage fee for running the service, a pro-rated hourly fee per configured Web ACL, plus a per-10,000-request charge across tiers. Request volume usually drives the largest share for high-traffic sites.
What happens to my request charges when my traffic crosses a tier boundary?
Tiers apply automatically based on your request volume, with no manual upgrade. Tier 1 covers 100K-1M requests by default, then Tier 2, 3, and 4 cover higher bands. Requests are billed per 10,000. As volume grows, additional requests fall into the applicable higher tier.
