You pay for this ruleset using two usage-based charges that combine on your bill. The first is a monthly fee applied in each AWS region where you deploy the ruleset. This fee is pro-rated by the hour, so partial months cost less. The second charge is based on how many requests the ruleset inspects, billed per million requests in each region. Your total scales with both the number of regions you run and your request volume. There are no upfront commitments or fixed terms; costs follow your actual usage.

A request is a single HTTP request that the ruleset inspects in a given AWS region. This ruleset checks requests for HTTP protocol and encoding issues, such as invalid characters or malformed encoding. Every inspected request counts toward your total, and you are billed per million inspected requests in each region.
Both charges apply at the same time and add together per region. The monthly fee is fixed for each region where you deploy the ruleset, pro-rated by the hour. The per-million-requests charge scales with your inspected traffic. High-traffic sites tend to see request charges drive most of the cost.
