Unified ID 2.0 is an open-source identity solution built for the open internet. UID2 leverages encrypted email and phone number data to provide a privacy-conscious, secure, and accurate identity standard for the entire digital advertising ecosystem.
Built as an open-source, standalone solution with its own unique namespace, the UID2 framework enables deterministic identifiers and and offers user transparency and privacy controls.
There are two types of UID2 identifiers: raw UID2s and UID2 tokens. The UID2 identifier enables monetization of logged-in experiences from publisher websites, mobile apps, and CTV apps through programmatic workflows. Benefitting from several layers of security and privacy measures, UID2s are safely distributed across the open internet. UID2 is a non-proprietary standard, and is accessible to constituents across the advertising ecosystem including Advertisers, Publishers, DSPs, SSPs, SSOs, CDPs, CMPs, Identity Providers, Data Providers, and Measurement Providers.
This product creates a deployment of the UID2 Operator that generates and manages raw UID2s and UID2 tokens for UID2 participants. The product operates entirely within an AWS Nitro Enclave and manages UID2 token updates, including handling opt outs and encryption rotation.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
This product is free to subscribe. What you pay covers the EC2 compute needed to run the Operator, billed by the hour. You choose from twelve instance types spanning general-purpose and memory-optimized families in 2xlarge and 4xlarge sizes. Larger 4xlarge sizes give more compute and memory than their 2xlarge counterparts, so your hourly cost scales with the instance you pick. The software runs inside a security enclave on the chosen instance. You pay only for the instances you deploy, with no separate license fee.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What resources does one hour of the chosen instance actually run?
Each hour runs one EC2 instance built from a machine image with the Operator service preinstalled. When the instance boots, it fetches your configuration and starts the Operator inside a security enclave. The enclave adds protection so the identity data stays shielded from unauthorized access.
Am I charged when an Operator instance is stopped or powered off?
Hourly charges apply to running instances. Because the software itself is free, the hourly figure reflects the EC2 compute you run. Stopped instances stop accruing compute charges, though attached storage may still bill separately under standard AWS rules. You pay only for the instances you deploy.
Can I add more instances later to handle higher demand?
Yes. The deployment creates an auto-scaling group starting with one instance. You can raise the desired instance count later. Each running instance bills at its own hourly rate, so your total scales with the number and type of instances you keep active.

Cloudformation launches KMS Key, Secret in Secrets Manager, IAM Role for Instance, Launch Templace, Autoscaling Group
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
Access the application via a browser at http(s)://<public_dns>. To connect to the operating system, use SSH and the username ec2-user. All application controls are available via the command line by typing "commands /help".
Please note:
This product requires an internet connection to deploy properly. Packages with security updates available will be updated during deployment.
An IAM role named "WorkerRole" is created and is designed to be assumed by Operator EC2 instances. This role grants permissions for interacting with the Key Management Service and Secrets Manager resources that are deployed by the CloudFormation Template for storing and retrieving application secrets. Additionally, the IAM role grants permissions to Operator EC2 instances to enable Cloudwatch monitoring capabilities.
