What is our primary use case?
We are using Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) to manage the VMs, our infrastructure, and mostly we are managing the virtual machines and services. Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) is primarily used for monitoring, automation, self-service, and application management.
What is most valuable?
The self-service provisioning is valuable, and the intelligent operations can identify issues and help us improve our infrastructure, security, and cost optimization and capacity optimization.
Optimization is particularly helpful because sometimes we don't know the utilization of the resources of the virtual machines. Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) will optimize and show us under-provisioning or over-provisioning. Based on that information, we can remove or add resources, which is very helpful for our infrastructure.
We have many features available, but the ones I mentioned are the ones we use most. Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) is a very user-friendly platform that helps us manage easily. It has also helped reduce the workforce needed to manage Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM), as well as reduce our costing.
What needs improvement?
I cannot specify anything particular, but in the AI era, if Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) were integrated with AI, that would be helpful.
AI is the trend now, so we need to implement AI. Sometimes we don't know how to do things manually, and AI could suggest solutions. If we allow it to, AI could implement these solutions from their side as well.

We have been using Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) for the last eight years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) is very good and the support is proactive. If anything is wrong with the build or during any upgrade time, the support person definitely helps us. We mostly have not found anything that causes a major outage due to Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM).
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability is easy and the upgrade process is straightforward because it is one-click. That is one of the reasons I selected Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) compared to others.
How are customer service and support?
The customer service is 10 out of 10. I have not experienced this type of support from any other vendor.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We were using VMware and Hyper-V, but there were a lot of challenges. The main issue was the support. We get very good support from Nutanix. We prefer Nutanix and especially Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) because it helps us get a great view and easily manage our cluster.
What was our ROI?
Definitely, the ROI is positive. Both aspects help us—we save money as well as reduce employee effort. That is really helpful. When comparing pricing between cloud and on-premises Nutanix cluster with Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) and all these setups, that represents huge savings.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing nowadays is very high compared to previously when we purchased two or three years back, and licensing is also high. Overall, it is good, and if we compare to the market, it is okay. However, the pricing is very high nowadays.

What is most valuable?
What I appreciate about Nutanix Cloud Manager is the implementation and that process. It is a cloud platform, and the main features I am looking for include integrated network, micro-segmentation, and support for Kubernetes with seamless scalability.
Nutanix Cloud Manager saves me time within 30 minutes. Overall, it saves about 10% of my time.
What needs improvement?

What is our primary use case?
My use case is that our entire infrastructure relies on Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) only, and currently we have our cloud environment in AWS, which is controlled with Nutanix as a hypervisor, where all our production environment is hosted.
What is most valuable?
Centralized multi-cloud management is available in Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM), which is very friendly, allowing me to manage all the application, infrastructure, and security in one console, which is a significant advantage for an infrastructure professional. I can rely on one application to manage all these aspects, including security, so we usually do not have to procure any other specific tools related to security or management.
In terms of operational efficiency, we were previously on-premises, and after migrating to the cloud about one and a half years ago, we noticed that our application performance improved to at least 10 times better compared to the previous on-premises setup. I appreciate the efficiency and performance of that environment, and in terms of monitoring and security, the posture management and lifecycle operation in Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) are very good, providing real-time insights that make troubleshooting easy.
What needs improvement?
Built-in playbooks are quite good when creating them, but we have not enabled those options for automation due to security concerns, so we have not leveraged them.
In terms of architecture, it is quite good, and I would appreciate exploring whether Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) has an option to restore the cluster to a new region. We perform our disaster recovery and have the option to take backups to an S3 bucket, so being able to pull out VMs to a new cluster from that bucket would be a very good feature.
I rate this area a seven because this technology is new to the vendor as well, so for them, it takes time to reach out to developers and check everything in their test environment before providing a solution. Because of this delay, particularly in our production environment, we cannot afford such delays, especially since I recently deployed a DR for Nutanix and have been experiencing some issues due to these delays.

I have been using the solution for about four years including on-premises.

For stability, I would rate it a nine.

Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) saves me a lot of time. Previously with our old VMware setup, operating servers and performing tasks such as snapshots was complex and time-consuming, but now with Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM), it is quite easy and saves me almost 60% of the time.
How was the initial setup?
Deployment was quite easy, and the migration part was also smooth, with good support from Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) support team, resulting in minimal downtime for our critical applications.
What about the implementation team?
In terms of comparison, Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) is very user-friendly and the GUI interface is easy to understand. When I look at other cloud options, the terms and technology defined by Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) are very friendly, allowing a normal system administrator to easily and proactively understand the features, options, and infrastructure capabilities available.
What was our ROI?
Since migrating to the cloud, we found that the performance of the applications we host there is very good, with increases of up to 10 times, which was the feedback from the application team regarding our production server applications deployed in Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM).

What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) is for my IT infrastructure both on-premises and in AWS, Azure, and other ways where I can plug in operationally. AI-driven insights are also used for Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM); we can go with the playbook, no-code workflow that automates and fixes common problems such as increasing the CPU, RAM, and hitting the limits, and the OS monitoring should be scaled up accordingly. Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) handles governance well, including confidential matters and is certified for compliance audit for ISO 27001, PCI, HIPAA, and all, making it quite good compared to VMware.
My use cases highlight that Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) is quite good in virtualization, with more RAID configured for their clusters. In case of a disaster affecting any physical instance or server used in virtualization, we can restore all processes within this RAID and other configurations. Additionally, whenever we want quick snapshots or VM backups, it takes only five to ten seconds to process, which is quite good for my use case.
The feature I find myself using the most day-to-day is deploying for any of the customers or internal use for the application team or team members utilizing these services. Any of the VMs or virtualization has a compute dependent on user and developer sides, targeting sectors such as finance, security, or IT operations. This allows us to efficiently use auto-scaling through Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM), receiving alerts for workflows not aligning with scenarios, such as new requirements or database interaction compromises, enabling us to analyze through alerts. Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) also has a good support team; we can log cases and have troubleshooting done effectively.
What is most valuable?
The automation through playbooks and no-code workflows has changed my daily operations because whenever the resource is getting more utilized or peak traffic is coming up, we can go into the playbooks and design workflow to get the virtual scale up and horizontal scaling for that resource. It helps our business impacts and operational activities to function properly while ensuring compliance part due to no manual interruptions and processes being secure under zero trust policies.
The best features Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) offers include AIOps functionality and storage-based capabilities, allowing us to identify seasonal patterns within the database peaks and generate reports to managers for deeper understanding of the solution. It is self-service and orchestrated, enabling the development of application blueprints and a standardized development environment for useful features, including a marketplace where we can access new blueprints, deploying them in just ten minutes. For instance, if we require a Linux VM with an SQL database and web service, we can select the LAMP stack blueprint from the marketplace and deploy it swiftly, surpassing previous traditional days that were tedious and time-consuming.
Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) has positively impacted my organization through cost-cutting, significantly reducing the need for manual interruptions, and allowing us to schedule VM backups during disasters. It essentially focuses on whether our engines are functioning properly and building effective workflows.
What needs improvement?
Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) can be improved by ensuring updates align with new circumstances.
