Larger instances carry higher hourly rates and provide more compute capacity. Your total cost scales with the instance you select and the hours it runs. You self-host FileCloud on your chosen AWS infrastructure, keeping data under your control.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You pay for each hour the chosen EC2 instance runs. The software charge is tied to running time, not to how many of the 20 users are active. This listing covers Enterprise Essentials for 20 users, so the user count is fixed within the license, while the instance you pick sets the hourly rate.
The hourly software charge meters running time only. When the instance is fully stopped, the software rate stops accruing. Underlying AWS storage for the attached volumes may still cost you while the instance is stopped. Restarting the instance resumes the hourly software charge.
Both combine. Your hourly rate depends on the EC2 instance type and size you select. Your total cost is that rate multiplied by the hours the instance runs. Larger instances raise the hourly rate; longer runtime raises the hours. The 20-user Enterprise Essentials scope stays fixed regardless of instance choice.

Usage instructions
Once the instance is running, RDP into the server using the credentials provided by AWS and connect to the administrator portal by typing http://<public_dns>/ui/admin/index.html. The default user name is 'admin' and the password is the Instance ID of your running EC2 instance. Create user accounts, setup Team Folders and customize the site branding to get started.
