Each dimension bills per hour that one instance of that specific ARM-based EC2 type runs. The clock counts wall-clock running time, not CPU load. Running two instances of the same type doubles the hourly charge. The rate reflects that instance's compute, memory, or storage capacity.
The software charge meters running hours only. When you stop or terminate an instance, the hourly software fee stops accruing. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from this listing's per-hour rate.
Your rate follows the instance type you select. Larger sizes within a family carry higher hourly rates because they provide more vCPUs, memory, or storage. Switching requires launching a different instance type; the change is manual, not automatic. You pay the new type's rate from launch.

Connecting to the Virtual Machine
To connect to your instance, use SSH over port 22. The default username for this image is ec2-user.

Security Configuration
This image is pre-hardened with over 200 security controls applied by default. No additional setup or configuration is required after launch.
You can begin using the virtual machine immediately with a secure baseline already in place.
Accessing Docker
Docker is pre-installed on this instance.
To confirm Docker is installed, open a terminal and run the following command: docker --version
This will display the installed Docker Engine version.
To run a sample container, use this command: docker run hello-world
This command will pull a test image from Docker Hub and launch a container to verify that Docker is working correctly. You should see a message confirming that Docker is operational.
