You pay by the hour for a pre-configured BoxLang runtime with CommandBox on a Red Hat-based virtual machine. Pricing is not tiered by features. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, and every instance runs the same software. Your rate depends only on the instance you choose. Smaller instances like t3.nano or t2.micro carry lower hourly costs, while large compute, memory, storage, or GPU instances carry higher rates. You scale cost by matching the instance size to your workload, and you pay only for the hours you run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What software do I get on each instance, and does it change with instance size?
Every instance runs the same pre-configured BoxLang runtime with CommandBox on a Red Hat-based virtual machine. The software is identical across all instances. Choosing a larger instance gives you more compute, memory, storage, or GPU capacity, not extra features. Your instance choice affects performance and hourly rate only.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly rate shown in the table. Note that underlying AWS storage or other AWS resources may still incur separate AWS fees while the instance is stopped. The software meters running hours only.
How do I move to a larger or smaller instance if my needs change?
Because pricing is not tied to a fixed commitment, you select an instance type that matches your workload and pay that hourly rate while it runs. To change capacity, you deploy on a different instance type. Your new rate is the one listed for that instance. No tier upgrade step applies.
