What resources come with each hourly instance rate I choose?
Each rate maps to an AWS EC2 instance type. That instance sets your CPU, memory, and storage. The image runs Ubuntu 20.04 with AWX pre-installed. Compute-optimized c5 types favor processing, memory-optimized r-series favor RAM, and storage-heavy d-series favor disk capacity. You pick the type matching your automation workload.
Am I charged the software fee when my EC2 instance is stopped?
The hourly software fee meters running time only. A stopped instance does not accrue the software charge. You may still pay standard AWS storage fees for the attached volume while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you restart the instance.
How does my bill combine the software fee with AWS compute costs?
Two charges apply together on the same AWS invoice. One is the hourly software fee for AWX on Ubuntu. The other is the standard AWS charge for the EC2 instance you run. Both scale with the instance type and the hours it runs.
