You pay based on usage across three separate dimensions that add up on your bill. The Playout Subscription charges per hour for running your cloud playout operations. S3 Usage bills per TB-hour to cover storage of your media content. CloudFront Egress Usage bills per TB for content delivered out through the content delivery network. These dimensions are independent, not tiers. Each scales with how much you consume, so your total cost reflects playout run time, stored data volume, and delivered traffic. You are not locked into a fixed commitment; charges track actual usage.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one Playout Subscription hour actually cover in terms of operations?
One playout hour covers running your cloud playout channel through the CLOUDPORT platform. This includes media ingest, scheduling, graphics, and live controls for that channel feed. You are billed for the time your playout runs, so a continuously running channel accrues charges each hour it stays on air.
How do the three usage dimensions combine to form my total bill?
The three dimensions bill independently and add together on one invoice. Playout hours reflect channel run time. S3 TB-hours reflect how much media you store and for how long. CloudFront TB reflects delivered traffic. Playout run time drives cost for always-on channels, while egress rises with viewer reach.
Does my bill drop when a channel is not actively running?
Playout hours accrue only while a channel runs, so stopping a feed halts that charge. But S3 Usage still bills per TB-hour for media you keep stored, even with no playout active. CloudFront Egress charges apply only when content is delivered out to viewers.
