n8n Workflow Automation Server (Self-Hosted, Ubuntu + PostgreSQL)

     Info
    Deployed on AWS
Self-hosted n8n workflow automation server, pre-configured with PostgreSQL and a reverse proxy. Launch and start building automations in minutes no manual setup required.

    Overview

This AMI delivers a production-ready, self-hosted deployment of n8n, the popular fair-code workflow automation platform, running on Ubuntu with PostgreSQL as the backing database and a lightweight reverse proxy already configured. Instead of manually installing Docker, configuring a database, and wiring up networking, you get a fully working automation server the moment your instance boots.

Each instance generates its own unique security credentials automatically on first launch no shared secrets, no manual key generation, no extra setup steps. Simply launch the instance, open your browser, and create your n8n owner account to start building workflows that connect your apps, APIs, and services.

Ideal for teams and individuals who want the flexibility and data control of self-hosting n8n without the operational overhead of setting up the underlying infrastructure themselves.

    Highlights

    • Zero manual configuration Docker, PostgreSQL, and the reverse proxy are pre-installed and pre-wired; just launch and go.
    • Unique, auto-generated credentials on every instance no shared secrets between deployments, generated securely at first boot.
    • Full data ownership your workflows, credentials, and execution history stay on your own AWS infrastructure, never a third-party cloud.

    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Additional details

    Usage instructions

    1. Launch this AMI on a t3.medium instance or larger.
    2. Ensure your security group allows inbound traffic on port 80 (HTTP, for the n8n web interface) and port 22 (SSH, for administrative access) restrict both to trusted IP ranges.
    3. Wait 1-2 minutes after launch for the automatic first-boot process to complete: this generates unique security credentials for your instance and starts all services.
    4. Open http://<your-instance-public-IP> in a browser.
    5. Follow the on-screen n8n setup wizard to create your owner account and begin building workflows.
    6. To connect a custom domain and enable HTTPS (recommended for OAuth-based integrations such as Google or Slack), see [your documentation link].
