What does the hourly rate cover, and does the Scout software itself add any charge?
The software runs at no license cost, so each hourly rate covers only the AWS EC2 instance that hosts Asset Manager Scout. You pay for the compute capacity of the instance type you select. The Scout application adds no separate software fee on top of that instance charge.
Am I charged the hourly rate when the Scout instance is stopped?
The hourly rate meters running instance time. A fully stopped instance does not accrue compute charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but no software charge applies since the software runs at no license cost. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
How do the seven instance-type dimensions differ, and how do I pick one?
Each dimension is a different EC2 instance type that hosts the same Scout software. They vary in compute, memory, and processor family. You select one instance that matches your workload size. Deployment guidance references the m4.2xlarge instance type as a starting point during launch.

What do you dislike about the product?
Configuration is not easy for people with little experience, if the users are not technical in the subject the use of the tool can be slowed down and they will not get the most out of it. The cost of the tool is high which makes it an unsuitable solution for some companies, quality costs money. In order to provide maximum performance in security operations it is required to have a fairly orderly and standardized network system, otherwise it will not work properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
FireMon is a great software solution for network security services management, also called firewall policy management, is a tool implemented by many companies that need to increase security and monitoring of all networks present within the organization in order to maintain order and control in this. The companies that have large networks in a complex way are the ones that can obtain greater benefits in the return of investment, due to the constant monitoring of a high number of equipment, which becomes really cumbersome if they do not have the right tools or software.
