Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for a preconfigured Keycloak image with an H2 database on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS. Pricing is not tiered by feature. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type you choose to run. The instance families cover general-purpose options like t2, t3, t3a, m4, m5, m6, and m7 series, in sizes from nano up to metal. Larger instances with more CPU and memory carry a higher hourly rate. Your total cost scales with the instance size you select and the number of hours you run it.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You get a preconfigured Keycloak image with an H2 database on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, running on the EC2 instance type you pick. The rate covers the software on that instance size. AWS charges separately for the underlying compute and any storage. Larger instance types carry a higher hourly software rate.
The software rate meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay AWS storage fees for the attached volume while the instance is stopped. Charges resume once you start the instance again.
Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type. If you move your workload to another instance size, you pay that size's hourly rate instead. Rates scale with the CPU and memory of the instance family and size you run. You are billed for actual hours on each type used.
