Who is it for?
BYOC is built for teams that prefer to have full control over their security and data retention policies to maintain a zero trust security strategy, while maintaining the flexibility of a cloud-native deployment. BYOC also supports organizations who have already invested in their own infrastructure, want to leverage promotional pricing or spend commitments from their existing cloud providers, or do not want to lock into a specific cloud vendor or region.

This listing uses a single usage-based pricing dimension. You pay by the centiCU, which equals one hundredth of a Compute Unit per hour. In practice, your cost tracks how much compute you consume over time. As you run more streaming workloads, usage rises and charges scale with it. When workloads scale down, your usage and charges drop too. There are no fixed tiers or instance sizes to choose. Billing is metered directly from the compute your deployment uses inside your own cloud account.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one centiCU represent, and how do I count my usage?
A centiCU equals one hundredth of a Compute Unit (CU) per hour. Your usage meters as fractions of a CU multiplied by the hours you run. Each running workload consumes CU capacity based on the compute it uses, and billing rolls up those fractional units across your deployment.
Am I charged when my streaming workloads are scaled down or idle?
Charges track the compute your deployment actually consumes, metered in centiCU per hour. When workloads scale down, usage and charges drop accordingly. Auto-scaling adjusts resources to your data volume, so fewer running units mean lower software charges. Underlying cloud infrastructure costs in your own account are separate.
Does this pay-as-you-go option require any upfront commitment?
No. This is usage-based billing metered by the centiCU per hour, with no fixed tiers or instance sizes to select. You pay for the compute you consume as you consume it. The platform deploys inside your own cloud account, so your data stays within your network boundary.
