Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Your credits pay for platform services charged by usage. These include running Actors, proxies, data transfer, and storage. Each Actor run draws compute units, plus any proxies and data transfer it uses. The exact draw depends on the Actor, how often it runs, and how long each run lasts.
Excess usage does not stop your work on a paid plan. You keep using the platform, and the overage gets added to your next invoice with a notification. Unused credits do not roll over; they expire at the end of each billing cycle.

I really like how simple Apify makes web scraping. Their library of ready-made actors saved us a ton of time, and setting up custom scrapers was smooth and straightforward. Customer support has also been fast and helpful whenever I’ve gotten stuck.

there's a slight learning curve if you're completely new to code, and pricing can scale up a bit fast if you run large scraping jobs constantly. but the docs and support make it pretty easy to handle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
apify helps us automate large-scale data collection and web scraping without having to manage complex server infrastructure. before using it, we spent way too much time setting up proxies, handling dynamic content, and maintaining fragile scrapers. with apify, we can launch pre-built actors or deploy custom scrapers in minutes, saving our team hours of manual dev work every week and letting us focus on analyzing the data instead

A True Merchant of Record Marketplace with Fast CLI/API Deploy and Strong Discovery

What do you like best about the product?
Apify is the only marketplace I've found that works as a true merchant of record for a solo, unincorporated developer — it handles buyer billing, payouts, and support, so I can publish a paid Actor and start earning without building a payments stack myself. The CLI/API deploy flow is fast once you know it, and the Apify Store's internal search actually surfaces a brand-new listing to real buyers on day one, which is rare for any marketplace. Automated QA test-runs published Actors and flags broken ones as "under maintenance" — it caught a failure of mine before users did. Actors expose input/output schemas that AI agents read directly, and the API covers builds, pricing and schedules, so my whole publish pipeline runs from CI.
What do you dislike about the product?
Revenue and payout data are Console-only — most useful endpoints for reading back earnings, monetization, and payout status simply 404 on the public API, so you're stuck clicking through the dashboard instead of scripting it. Personal-account payout documentation is thin, and some account fields (bio, picture, payout billing info) can only be set through the Console, not the API, which breaks automation workflows that otherwise deploy and price actors end to end via CLI/API.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a solo, unincorporated developer in the UAE, I can't get a merchant account or payment processor of my own for selling software directly to global buyers. Apify solves that by being the actual merchant of record: I publish a paid Actor, it handles buyer billing and currency, and pays me out — no company entity, no payment gateway integration, no invoicing buyers myself. That turned a side project into something with real, measurable monthly revenue within weeks of first publishing.

Nothing particularly important. Sometimes you just want to know how much a certain run will cost.

What do you like best about the product?
Apify makes it much easier to build and operate web scraping workflows without having to manage all the surrounding infrastructure yourself.
I particularly like the combination of Actors, scheduling, datasets, proxies and API access. The marketplace of existing Actors is also useful for quickly testing different approaches.

As workflows become more complex, debugging and understanding resource consumption can require some attention. Community Actors also vary in quality and documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It removes a lot of the operational work involved in web scraping and lets me focus more on the actual application logic and use of the resulting data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
To improve the experience, it would be beneficial to enhance the documentation and provide more detailed examples for complex workflows.
