Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Your credits pay for platform services charged by usage. These include running Actors, proxies, data transfer, and storage. Each Actor run draws compute units, plus any proxies and data transfer it uses. The exact draw depends on the Actor, how often it runs, and how long each run lasts.
Excess usage does not stop your work on a paid plan. You keep using the platform, and the overage gets added to your next invoice with a notification. Unused credits do not roll over; they expire at the end of each billing cycle.

Apify is extremely versatile because its numerous actors can work across multiple platforms. It's a valuable shortcut when building agents

Some actors can be finicky and don't do exactly what they describe. So be sure to read reviews to understand what you can really achieve with them.

What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Apify is definitely their Store with pre-built actors. It saves our team a ton of development time because we rarely have to write scrapers completely from scratch. The built-in proxy management is also a huge plus, handling all the rotation seamlessly without us having to configure it manually.
What do you dislike about the product?
Estimating the exact compute costs for large-scale scraping jobs can be a bit confusing at first. Also, while they offer an excellent developer plan (just $12/month which gives you $85 in credits for 6 months), the major downside is that you cannot use pre-built actors from the Store on this specific tier. You are forced to use only your own custom actors, which slightly limits the out-of-the-box convenience if you are on that budget plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Apify, our team struggled with building and maintaining our own scraping infrastructure, which took up way too much engineering time. Managing IP rotation to avoid getting blocked was a constant headache. Apify solves this by providing a reliable, serverless environment with built-in proxy management. The main benefit is that we save dozens of hours a month on maintenance and can focus directly on analyzing the data we extract via their API, rather than fixing broken scrapers.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like about Apify is, firstly, that it has a wide range of scraping actors; secondly, it’s easy to use; and thirdly, it’s easy to integrate into various systems. My experience with Apify’s automation and AI capabilities has been very smooth. Using pre-built actors eliminated the need to maintain web scrapers whenever website structures change. When connected to AI tools, it allowed fast, structured content extraction directly into JSON/CSV formats, making it easy to bridge raw web data into my statistical workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is still a lack of built-in scraping actors in Apify and, in my opinion, for some actors, the price is still a bit too high.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem Apify solved on my project involved scraping social media data; the benefit was that I obtained clean data from the scraping process, which helped me complete my final-year project as a requirement for graduation.
