    Overview

    Open image

env zero is the cloud governance platform designed for large, complex organizations running infrastructure at scale. It brings continuous control, visibility, and enforcement to the full infrastructure lifecycle, from onboarding existing resources to managing change, drift, cost, and access over time.

Leading enterprises such as PayPal, Broadcom, Paramount, and MongoDB use env zero to standardize and govern infrastructure delivery across teams, clouds, and IaC frameworks including OpenTofu, Terraform, and Kubernetes. With built-in guardrails for security, compliance, cost, and reliability, env zero reduces risk while enabling teams to operate independently within defined boundaries.

Founded in 2018, env zero is making infrastructure a governed, reliable foundation for modern enterprises. As a founding member of the OpenTofu Technology Steering Committee, we actively support open, enterprise-ready infrastructure standards.

    Highlights

    • GOVERNANCE - env zero enforces governance at every stage of infrastructure delivery and operation. Policies (security, compliance, cost), approvals, access controls, and drift detection ensure that infrastructure remains aligned with organizational standards, before, during, and after deployment. Governance is continuous, not point-in-time. Changes are tracked, reviewed, enforced, and auditable by default.
    • STANDARDS - env zero turns standards into enforceable workflows. Infrastructure is delivered through approved templates, policies, and pipelines that apply consistently across teams, environments, and clouds. Standards are encoded once and applied everywhere, eliminating drift, shadow IT, and one-off exceptions.
    • SCALE - As organizations scale to hundreds of teams and environments, env zero maintains isolation, visibility, and control through structured org models, fine-grained RBAC, and environment-level governance. Scale does not increase chaos. It increases confidence.

Robust Deployment at Scale with Minor Learning Curve

    Reviewed on Aug 31, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I use env0 to manage, deploy, and update our k8s cluster and infrastructure at scale. It eliminates the risk of failed deployments caused by local machine issues like network drops, VPN issues, or low battery. I really like the clean UI, which lets me see all the statuses of my clusters and environments across all cloud providers under one platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup for advanced custom workflows has a learning curve, and the documentation could include more real-world examples and maybe step-by-step flows in the UI for beginners. It would also be great to have a library of built-in starter templates for common setups, like Helm releases or multi-account integrations. For me, the initial setup was not so easy, but my other teammates who already use it helped me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use env zero to manage, deploy, and update our k8s cluster and infra at scale. It eliminates the risk of failed deployments due to local machine issues.

    Integrated IaaC with Improved Visibility

    Reviewed on Aug 25, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the unified templates of IaaC in env zero, which reduce script mismatch by having a centralized repository for all IaaC templates. I also like that developers can spin up or modify the infrastructure resources without needing much help from a separate infra/IT team. This has been a game changer for my team as we don't have to wait for the infra team to provision new resources or update existing ones. Moreover, env zero provides integrated cost controls and better visibility, making it a valuable tool for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
I sometimes face issues when the templates go out of support from official versions, but that's more on the team maintaining the templates. However, it would be helpful if the Env Zero team could give a heads-up on components that are nearing the end of their support life. Additionally, the initial setup was mixed, with moderate difficulty.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use env0 for unified IaaC templates, reducing script mismatches and having a centralized repo. It lets devs modify infra without waiting on IT, which is huge. We switched to env0 for integrated cost controls and better visibility.

Secure, Easy TF Deployments with a Polished UI and Great Value

    Reviewed on Aug 25, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
It’s easy to manage our TF deployments and environments, including auto-deploy and drift detection, and I appreciate how thorough and secure the overall setup is. The UI is looking great after the change they did a few months back, very nice experience, the performance and the price are all worth it.
What do you dislike about the product?
You could potentially cause locks on the environment if you are working too heavily on it, so you have to be careful and know what you are doing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing our cloud infra with ease, it's a great TF manager.

Templated Setup Makes Creating New Environments Effortless

    Reviewed on Aug 25, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Templated setup and ease of creating new environments using these templates. Integration points work as advertised.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if I can do env0 as IaC, haven't tried yet and not sure if support exists for this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For a large organisation, ease of creating new env with minimum steps and consistency. Developers not spending all time for env setup increasing overall performance.
