Easily deploy Jitsi Meet with AWS infrastructure: a self-hosted, secure, and scalable video conferencing platform with built-in meeting recording tailored for large organizations, events, and institutions needing high-capacity collaboration. With Jitsi Meet, you maintain full control over infrastructure, data privacy, and recording storage within your own AWS account.
Our pre-configured AMI enables rapid deployment and robust operation of Jitsi Meet, optimized for up to 500 concurrent users. The deployment includes a primary server with Jitsi Meet and Jitsi Video Bridge (JVB) installed, and a dedicated Jibri server for recording one meeting at a time. Recordings are automatically uploaded to your configured AWS S3 bucket. This setup is bundled with an AWS CloudWatch monitoring dashboard alongside all core Jitsi components.

Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. The 16 options fall into two families. The c5 and c5a compute-optimized instances (large, xlarge, 2xlarge) suit heavier processing loads like video bridging. The t3 and t3a general-purpose instances (small, medium, large, xlarge, 2xlarge) fit lighter roles. This setup runs several instances together, such as the meeting server, video bridges, and recording servers. Your hourly cost scales with how large each instance is and how many you run. AWS infrastructure charges apply separately.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
This setup runs four instances: one meeting server, two video bridges (JVB), and one recording server (Jibri). The guide recommends t3a.small for the meeting server, c5.xlarge for each video bridge, and t3a.medium for the recording server. You pay hourly for each running instance.
Hourly software charges apply only while instances run. You can stop all four instances from the EC2 console and restart them later. Stopped instances do not accrue hourly software charges. Underlying AWS storage fees for the recordings S3 bucket and volumes may still apply separately.
The two video bridge (JVB) instances usually drive the largest share, since the guide recommends compute-optimized c5.xlarge for each. The meeting and recording servers use lighter general-purpose types. Your total hourly bill adds each running instance together, so bridge count and size matter most.

Jitsi Meet 500 concurrent user video conferencing setup with recording
The setup includes Jitsi Meet server, autoscalable Jitsi Video Bridges and autoscalable Jibri recording servers. This scripts using IAM role permission to push metrics to cloudwatch, communicate with sqs and terminate Jitsi Video Bridges for scaling in Jitsi Video Bridges. Jibri servers IAM role permission to apply scale in protection to themselves, push recordings to s3 bucket and push metrics for cloudwatch dashboard

Usage instructions
Click the "View Purchase Options" button. After that, you will need to accept the terms and conditions. Click on "Accept Terms" to proceed. Please wait for a few minutes while the processing takes place. Once it's completed, click on "Continue to Configuration". Select your preferred region in "Configure this software" page and click "Continue to Launch" button. From the "Choose Action" dropdown menu, select "Launch CloudFormation", and then click "Launch". Fill the data and continue to deploy the product.
Access the application via a browser at http://<domain-name>. To generate SSL certificates first point dns to server, login to the instance and run certbot --nginx. To ssh, use port 22 and the username 'ubuntu'. Admin email is required for SSL generation. IAM role assigned to instances for push metrics to cloudwatch, communicate with sqs and terminate Jitsi Video Bridges for scaling in Jitsi Video Bridges. Jibri servers IAM role permission to apply scale in protection to themselves, push recordings to s3 bucket, change volume type and push metrics for cloudwatch dashboard

What do you like best about the product?
Jitsi has been a solid, no-cost option for handling everything from internal team meetings to calls with external partners and stakeholders, without needing a paid subscription or account creation to join. Being open-source gives us flexibility to self-host if needed for more control over data and privacy, which matters given some calls involve sensitive business discussions. Video and audio quality has been reliable for typical group sizes, and the one-click join via browser makes it easy for external participants to hop in without friction. Screen sharing and basic collaboration features cover what we need for most meeting types without feeling bloated with unnecessary extras.
What do you dislike about the product?
Call quality and stability can degrade a bit with larger groups or less reliable internet connections, which becomes noticeable when several external participants join at once. Some of the more advanced features found in bigger platforms, like detailed analytics, breakout rooms, or deeper calendar integrations, are limited or require self-hosting effort to configure properly. The mobile app experience isn't as polished as the browser or desktop version, and self-hosting for more control adds operational overhead that not every team wants to take on just for basic meetings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jitsi gives us a reliable, free way to run both internal meetings and external calls with partners without the cost of a paid platform or the friction of requiring participants to create accounts. This has made it easy to loop in external stakeholders quickly, since anyone can join via a browser link, while keeping our meeting infrastructure simple and low-overhead for day-to-day use.

What do you like best about the product?
I like Jitsi because it offers a user-friendly interface that makes communication easy without requiring my clients to create an account. This is really helpful for remote communication. I also appreciate that it's fully open source and doesn't require an account to communicate, which provides a secure way to connect. Switching to Jitsi from Google Meet was great because I wanted a simpler solution that offered better privacy. Additionally, the initial setup was really easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it has inconsistent video quality in just a little slower connection, and sharing screen is less smooth. Bandwidth adaptation for slower connections could be smarter. Mobile sharing could be improved, and having clearer connection quality indicators would be nice. More options in audio and video control, like manual bitrate control, would be beneficial.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jitsi helps me conduct meetings and collaboration without needing expensive software, providing a reliable communication method. Its user-friendly, account-free interface is great for remote communication with clients.

What I like most about Jitsi is its simple, user-friendly interface. What do you like best about the product?
As an IT professional, I have always search for similar platforms opposed to mainstream ie; Microsoft Teams etc. I either use Jitsi or Google Meets, both which has came a long way to be comparable to Teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Using Jitsi for aver 5 years, we use to have bad lag when having online meetings exceeding a dozen or so people, now they have solved that issue and we recently had a 45 member meeting with no issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Whether you have an account or the ability to use it free online, it works for the individual or business that is small and just starting out without a big overhead expense.

What do you like best about the product?
It’s seamless and works out of the box. You just go to the website, choose a unique meeting name, and join.
With other providers, you often need authentication and extra steps that make getting started harder. On top of that, it works well on a low-bandwidth connection. I had to attend an academic interview with poor network conditions, and the interviewer suggested using Jitsi.
