Data Sets:
The ZIP Code Boundaries and Centroids product consists of four data sets
ZIP Code Boundaries provide spatial demarcations of U.S. ZIP Codes based on USPS carrier routes.
The Centroid version includes all ZIP Codes, one record per, including point-type ZIPs such as PO Boxes. For true point ZIPs, an attempt is made to place the centroid at the Post Office or business address. For polygonal ZIP centroids, a modified geographic center point is used.
ZIP Code Alternate Names provides all names associated with a particular ZIP Code in a separate table for faster geocoding and better hit rates in the main ZIP Code boundary file.
ZIP Code NoFill boundaries provides an alternative set of ZIP Code boundaries with complete coverage throughout the U.S., even in areas where there is no postal delivery, to support map display and territory management and contains the same roster of ZIP codes along with their own centroids and change log.

Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What data does the free Product Access subscription actually include?
You get a sample of USA ZIP Code boundary polygons and centroids (the central point of each ZIP area). It is a sample dataset, meant for evaluation rather than nationwide production use. It lets you test how the data is structured, stored, and integrates into your mapping or analytics workflows.
Will my cost change as I use the data more or add more users?
No. The single Product Access dimension is free and flat. There are no usage meters, per-user charges, tiers, or overage thresholds. Downloading more, sharing across a team, or querying the sample repeatedly does not add cost. Access stays uniform for every subscriber.
How can I use this sample dataset in my own environment?
You can download the sample and test it directly in your systems. This shows how the data is built, structured, and stored, and how it integrates into workflows and Geographic Information System (GIS) environments. Use it to assess accuracy and fit before considering broader location datasets.
