eSync is an over-the-air (OTA) data platform to manage diverse edge devices for automotive/industrial applications. It is based on the eSync Alliance standard to support OTA updates and data gathering with a single approach across multiple vehicle brands, models and sub-models.
eSync is an all software platform that builds an over-the-air (OTA) data pipeline to any number of diverse edge devices in a single network or set of sub-networks. It was developed for automotive applications, wherein a typical vehicle may have many dozens of computing devices from different vendors, running a variety of operating systems, with widely differing processing and storage resources, on any of several network and bus types. eSync is constructed of multiple tiers of embedded software, with a server in the cloud, a client in the vehicles, and agents for edge devices. The tiers of embedded software abstract the diversity of the in-vehicle environment into common messaging protocols and behaviors. Automakers can have a single server front-end that allows updating and data gathering to take place over-the-air to any number of domain controllers, electronic control units and smart sensors within the vehicle, and repeat this over any number of different vehicle configurations. As a standards-driven multi-company platform, adoption of eSync brings the confidence of a multi-vendor ecosystem, to support OTA integration and a single approach across multiple vehicle brands, models and sub-models.
Highlights
Standards-driven embedded platform for providing OTA updates to multiple edge devices
The eSync Agent SDK enables customers to configure their own eSync Agents to update edge devices ranging from network gateways, domain controllers and electronic control units to smart sensors, using OTA connectivity.
The eSync Agent SDK provides an account to the Server on the AWS cloud, Client software for a specified device type (Raspberry Pi or PC), and template eSync Agent firmware which can be configured to update the customer's own UDS-capable edge device.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You buy access to the eSync Server platform for the Agent SDK, priced per unit. The four options differ only by the target platform where the Agent SDK runs. Three options each cover a single platform: 64-bit Raspberry Pi (AARCH64), 32-bit Raspberry Pi, or PC (Intel/AMD64). The Multi option covers all supported platforms in one purchase. You pick the option matching your device environment. Choose Multi if you deploy across several platform types. Under the contract model, you set the quantity of units for your deployment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one unit of eSync Agent SDK access cover in a deployment?
A unit provides eSync Server platform access for one Agent SDK instance on the target device. The Agent runs on an edge device, such as an ECU or smart sensor, and handles update tasks. You add units as you add more agents across devices.
When would I choose the Multi option instead of a single-platform option?
Pick a single-platform option when your agents run on one device type: 64-bit Raspberry Pi, 32-bit Raspberry Pi, or PC. Choose Multi when you deploy agents across several supported platform types under one purchase, avoiding separate per-platform units.
What drives my total cost as my device deployment grows?
Cost scales with the number of units you set under the contract. Each additional agent instance needing eSync Server access adds a unit. Since the Agent SDK uses distributed agents per device, cost rises as you add more edge devices to update.
