Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance type. Each dimension maps to one instance size, and the rate scales with that machine's compute, memory, and storage capacity. Smaller general-purpose sizes carry lower hourly rates, while large compute-, memory-, storage-, and GPU-focused instances cost more per hour. You pick the instance that fits your DNS workload and pay only for the hours you run it. Billing flows through your AWS account, with no upfront commitment or fixed term.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You get a pre-configured authoritative DNS server with a web-based administration interface, running on the Amazon EC2 instance size you select. The rate covers the software licence running on that machine. You add storage and set your domain and credentials during the setup wizard after launch.
The software rate meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay underlying AWS fees for attached storage while the instance is stopped, since that storage persists separately from the software licence.
No. Billing is pay-as-you-go through your AWS account, with no upfront commitment and no fixed term. You pay for the hours each instance runs. If you switch to a different instance size, the hourly rate for that new size applies from then on.
